So why is this called MACworld? They should rename it to iphoneworld, the last few years have had nothing to do with macs.

It isn't macworld. Its the worldwide developers conference.

It's not Macworld. It's the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference.

The iPhone and iOS needs the most attention; it's just three years old, there's a lot of work that needs to happen on this platform.

By contrast, Apple did a lot of work on Snow Leopard. It was a major under-the-hood rewrite, to create the underpinnings of the PC operating system for the next five or so years. One will probably see more attention placed on OS X next year.

Funny.

Seriously though. Ye the iphone 4 seems great, but its not a huge leap.

But like the mac pro hasnt been updated for so long, and i think its just shows when jobs even use 5 min talking about mac related stuff. its all about iphones etc.

What a huge letdown, for me atleast.

Apple are just going to where the money is. Shame for Mac users, but good news for shareholders. OS X news would please 99% of the people on this forum, but would add very little to their profit margins. Can't blame them I guess... No doubt we'll have a few crumbs thrown to us when 10.6.4 goes golden, but this WWDC seems ominous and reflects what a lot of people feared regarding the advancement of the "iDevices" to the detriment of the desktop.

And this was relevant how exactly? ATT installed 12 cells above my roof. Let me repeat this: I have 12 cells right above my head and we get dropped calls everyday. Yesterday at midnight 3G switched to Edge once again and apps were not responsive. The only solution is to switch on plane mode and then quickly back to 3G.

I am pissed off at a crappy service that costs $125 per month. Biking on Lakeshore in chicago while listening to the radio you get dropped service too (right on chicago beach's bike path) its pretty bad.

I will only get a v.4 if I grab it from Australia or it gets jailbroken. ATT service is a disgrace and I sincerely hope they are going to lose their exclusivity and Apple will open the phone to all providers.

Not one person I know with ATT is happy with their service, that tells a lot

You act like you can't love both ;).

I have been a mac fan since the 128k. If Apple discontinues the mac, I'd be *PISSED*. And no the ipad is not a replacement for a mac.

But, I love the iphone and I mostly enjoyed learning about the iphone. My one big disappointment was one I was already resigned to listening to some people on here who had pretty good logic why there would not be a 64GB model. But really, especially with the better camera/video and having imovie on there, having more gigs is even more important. Ah well, I suppose I shouldn't really complain too hard. I have only half filled my 16 GB iphone. I still wanted 64 (I like having enough that i really don't think I'll reach the limit. Not sure that will happen with 32GB especially with more stuff you'd use the storage for).
Ofcourse i can love both.

It's just seems apple's focus have shifted so much. I mean 10 minuets to bring news about osx, something. Ye better movie recording/camera is great, but i already have far better already, so for me, its not great. Its not mind blowing different then the 3gs.

oh well

O2 do not seem to be following suit with AT&T and offering an early upgrade system, which is a shame as the following day I would be coming into some money and possibly be looking to upgrade my 3GS...

I'm getting tired of Steve bragging about the games on the iPhone. No offense, but the majority suck. I'd wait til more great individual games pop up on the market (like Dark Nebula) before you go on about how amazing these games are. I don't think generic clones count, and if I wanted to play "high caliber" games as such, I'd go for the PS3.

This and 2008 were the most disappointing WWDC's.
I was excited about the iPod Nano w/camera but that eventually wore off.

WWDC 2007 was the last time a keynote was really worthwhile otherwise. The iPhone delayed Leopard though. I dodged a bullet not buying the original Mac Pro. If I did own one I'd probably be running Windows on it full time.

So - to recap:

Approx. one and a half hours of the new iPhone, which is admittedly quite nice, but half of which we already knew.

Approx. half an hour on the iPad and the App Store.

Zero mention of anything Mac, OS X, Apple TV, or the fresh shafting from AT&T. Hey Mr. Jobs, any idea how much data is in each iAd? I only ask because of a certain cap any new US based customers are going to need to worry about.

it wont affect data unless you click on the ad its been said several times.

Steve Jobs: "You won´t be disappointed."

And how Steve said the new macs is going to take apple to the next level. Ye, and he doesnt use 5 min of his time giving some updates on them.

I dont like to whine, but this isnt apple as it used be. iphone is fine, i have one, and dont need one each year. but cant blame them. Sorry jobs, i dont like the way this is heading.

Oh, Bumpers will cover up the seam. One step closer to buying it.

Man, that white iPhone looks rad with a white bumper.

Only Steve Jobs could have his head so far up his own arse to think that 2 hours about a phone is a great speech to give at a Developers Conference.

Apple iNC is truly is.

What do you want from a salesman? The less there is to sell the harder he has to work to sell it ;)
