Any one think that we may see new Mac hardware in July? Between new phones, new watches, new lower-end iPads potentially coming out in the Fall, it does not give a lot of opportunity for new Mac announcements. (MacBook Pro, iMacs? )

It’s either July or October, since Back to School would be a bad time to release new models and then deal with a flood of exchanges.

It is hard to find words to describe such an epic failure. Perhaps someone else could give it a try but alas it will probably a beta release.

There are 16 year old devs in the jailbreak community that could shame all of Apple. Google must be wondering if Apple is just ****ing with them at this point.

Do massive amounts of people really use FaceTime? I’ve literally never FaceTimed and would be pissed if anyone tried to FaceTime me. I live my life as to not have to interact face to face with people. Don’t get why they’d start with this.

Don’t really understand the new notification system either. Just put your phone on silent. People can wait to be replied too.

Only thing I can remember seeing that I’ll even use is the easier multi-tasking on iPad and possibly universal control. The current drag and drop multi-tasking sucks.

Well, I will resume with my M1 Mac Mini purchase.
Clearly the Monterey edition of the Mac OS, will be compatible.

PS: Universal Control for the win!

Definitely the least exciting Apple keynote I have ever seen. I was bored out of my mind throughout the entire event. On the plus side, I am not salivating over a product I can't afford or desperate to install betas to try an awesome new feature. I feel like I watched nothing at all.
So even after the first hour of the near two hour show you kept watching? That says a lot. 🙄

iCloud+ combines iCloud with some new features like Private Relay, which lets you browse in Safari in an even more private way. Traffic leaving your device is encrypted and sent through two separate relays. No one, including Apple, can see who you are or where you're browsing.

Who is stupid enough to believe this???
I mean if it's really like that, people will use their relays to do shady stuff... sell drugs, hack coverment, build a darknet(tor) second edition, etc.

Come-on Apple, that's nonsense feature marketing myth!

son of a bizz. I guess I shouldn’t have sold my 16” MBP 5600M this week after all 😭 Now I’m all dressed up with nowhere to go 😭

Hello again my trusty dusty 2009 MBP.

You realise they did all that fine the last few years, so why is this year any different? lol.

This 9to5 thumbnail of the release of iOS 15 beta 1 sums up my sentiments as well:

Steve Jobs would have never wasted our time with such a pointless event.
Firstly the "SJ would've never, blah blah blah" line is tired and worn out but I can give you a laundry list of pointless events starring SJ. Often he's left people bored and nothing special. You're giving him too much credit. One of the most pointless events was for the iPod Shuffle which was discontinued not long after. I wonder why? 🙄

The problem with things like SharePlay and FaceTime and whatever are that they aren't cross platform. There is always somebody who can't use an iDevice, so you are stuck with Zoom. If you do magically have a group of Apple devotees to chat with, one of them will have a device too old for compatibility or will be too lazy/stupid/superstitious/cautious to update what they have. When I watch those demos I just think, yeah yeah, nice dream. Not something I will ever get to do.

Yes they do lol. I FaceTime constantly as well as my relatives and friends. Some friends only FaceTime me I never receive regular calls from them.
