I believe some users have mistaken the $50 technology guarantee fee for the Windows 7 upgrade. That is if you buy a machine within a certain time frame before the launch of Windows 7 you get Vista installed as the original OEM. You do get a coupon for a drastically price reduced copy of the upgrade though.
