Maybe the stores broken?

Few hundred people hitting the refresh button every second probably isn't helping things... :D

I most certainly was, I remember watching it live.

I watched last year's keynote at WWDC LIVE at University of Houston. I also remember only having a day or two's notice that it would be broadcast at all. Now that we are a whole FIVE days from the event, I'm not worried that the official line is that there will be no broadcast. (Now, if by Sunday evening, they are still saying that, THEN I will start to panic!)

We still have our text feed on MacRumors... lol :D :)

The UK apple store is still up, which is strange as the Euro stores usually go down before the US store. Interestingly however the UK refurbished store is open Tuesday to Saturday this week, rather than just Wednesday. They usually just have a strange mix of products but today they have all the current iMacs and all the iPods.

So I guess these would be the most likely. My money is definitely on a new iMac G5 by next Monday, lets hope its today however!

Whats a bet this is the largest number of hits per second the apple store will recieve this week

Everytime I hit refresh, does that count as another hit for the page? If so, I have "visited" Applestore.com about 200 times in the last half an hour.

Store back up

Store back up but I don't see anything new???
Ooo the displays don't have a price. Wonder what that means

You may be right, maybe I just remember everyone here saying it would be streamed live, but Apple not making it official until a couple of days before.

If that were true...

A lot of these complaints--about price, size, cooling, and shape, are based on the G5 assumption. I'm encouraged that MacRumors says thats likely!

But Apple did recently say that iMacs share a similar problem to PowerBooks in terms of fitting a G5 plus cooling. Now, it wasn't worded AS directly as the PowerBook comment, so there's always hope, but it did sound like the next iMac MAY WELL BE A G4. Which is fine... IF the resulting performance is still offered at the right price!

G5 iMac rumors might be true BUT still a ways off. I'm sure Apple would prefer to update the form factor and the CPU together, though, in which case the next iMac might even be the "old" shape too.

So be ready for the chance that the current iMac may get one more speed bump (and hopefully price drop), and that WWDC will be all about Tiger--and THEN the new G5 iMacs will follow in August or Sept. or whatever.
)

If that were true why not just update the iMac when the eMac and iBooks were updated??

I can't even get the Apple Store page to load. Ya'll quit hitting refresh every second! ;)

is it just me?

Hahahaha, it's still down for me too ;)

Is something coming?

Isn't it an odd time for updates? Secondly, why would they release something new so close to WWDC? If someting is coming, it can only be something that's not relevant for developers, i.e. something for consumers, but what would that be? New iMacs? Perhaps it's just a false alarm :)

Macrumors, just gave me a message that this server was to busy as well, hell us mac freaks are going to take down all the mac related websites at this rate of refreshing
