Are you trying to make all dutch-speaking people on this forum pissed. There were already two posts saying that dutch ≠ german.

I apologize, i thought that the t-mobile site was in german, not dutch. hence why i used germany. my baaaad

I don't see how they could not be revealing a new interface with Snow Leopard, considering how much Quicktime, iTunes, Safari 4, and iLife '09 has changed.

I wonder when the best time to actually release snow leopard will be?

Is it too late for redmond to get out its photocopiers if SL is released in the next month or so and whatever is given out to developers is feature complete?

Do they wait until a week or two before windows7?
Or do they wait until afterwards?
Do they enjoy screwing with Balmer's mind?

Yeah, but if it looks anything like that, then I'm going to vomit. The scroll bars are dull as heck. Ugh..... how can anyone like that.

I think the black bezel/matte back is merely an addition to the existing iPhone styles (chrome + B/W plastic backs). Maybe reserved as a higher-end option.

Unless Apple goes all black for the iPhone 2009 line... I just can't see a WHITE matte version. Imagine all the stains from everyday usage.

So...

- Black bezel/Matte back aka "murdered out" (sorry I had to..)
- Chrome bezel/Plastic back in black or white (or just the white)

All updated with the slightly new facelift/hardware (magnetometer, new camera, cpu etc etc).

.

You think the matte white would get more stains than a glossy white. They are both plastic...they both would get just as dirty

I would think if you took a regular pen or a pencil to a matte white surface (esp if its that gummy grippy type) that it will stain as opposed to a glossy white where you can simply wipe off. Dirty oily hands will stain the matte white... (white macbook palm rests).

UNLESS... Apple reinvents matte surfaces :p

I'll just disagree. Considering my xbox controller is matte white and still looks matte white.

And aren't the macbooks glossy? They sure shine like it.

No covered banners, yet.

Maybe because the new features don't add much from a developer's perspective.

A front-facing iPhone camera is a bit of a stretch for massive promotion to developers. It enables some more types of apps, but it's more of a user feature. The real developer juice from an iPhone perspective was the stuff in iPhone 3.0. A new interface in Snow Leopard may require some UI changes, but that's more of an inconvenience than a feature for developers. The developer side of SL has been final for a month or two now.

That said, if there's video calling, I hope Apple negotiated a deal with AT&T that allows Skype over the cell network (at least voice). I'm sure O2 would allow it here in the UK (at least, they seem to be supportive of free tethering) but it appears we're all held to the features AT&T will allow.

Video calling may tempt me to break contract and upgrade, but I'd need to spend a good deal of time with a Pre before I commit to that.

You've seen too many keynotes and believed too much of what has been preached to you.

1. The Mac division at Microsoft already has Snow Leopard, nobody there needs to start a photocopier. Adobe and Microsoft are the most important third party software developers for the Mac platform - you can bet that they get early releases of OS X even before the rest of the members of Apple's Developer Connection. Microsoft and Apple even have a patent deal that allows them to use each others patents. But even without that are there probably more relevant innovations and improvements in Windows 7 than there will be in Snow Leopard - Windows 7 targets a market of almost on BILLION installations in all spoken and written languages world-wide on the long term. Compared to this, all the big words in an Apple keynote are just... obnoxious marketing and say more about the narrow mindedness at Apple than they say about their competitors. (Heck, even Linux supports more languages and is available in more countries than OS X.)

2. Steve Ballmer probably doesn't care very much about Mac OS X Snow Leopard. More people already have downloaded the Release Candidate of Windows 7 than Apple will ever sell Snow Leopard licenses. Apple's market share in the OS sector still is completely insignificant when compared to Microsoft.

3. If Steve Ballmer is paying attention to anything that Apple is doing, then this will be the iPhone and iTunes, because the latter is the only area where Apple really is the heavy-weight that they claim to be. However, with DRM disappearing from online music (and soon video) sales and other giants like Amazon entering this market, Apple will have to do a lot of homework to keep their market dominance.

I think 15-20 minutes is more than enough time to write the pre off. Don't worry there will be no line of people behind you waiting to try it.

(I just got back from the sprint store)

But, back on topic with the thread. Are we looking at a 3+ hour keynote?

I really hope it's not called iPhone video, that would just be stupid. Come on, Apple can think of something better than that.

Well considering that the back of the new iPhone, in the images floating around just says simply, "iPhone" could show they are just going back to the standard name iPhone.

Everyone thought that the MacBook Air sounded stupid...

Yes, and today I still think they could have come up with something better. But considering that Apple has already made an iPod video, iPhone video just sounds even worse, so unoriginal. Plus they called it an iPod video because it was the first iPod to play videos and that was its major feature. I don't think Apple should use video editing on a phone as their major feature that they use to name their products.

How about "iPhone Edit," then? Or "iPhone 3G V2?"

Damn Apple is being hit on all fronts; Zune HD, Windows 7, Palm Pre. They need to answer back or they are finished.

ZuneHD, seriously how is this a threat?!
Windows 7, it new, it's better than Vista - but it's still built on the same framework as Vista.
Palm Pre, too glossy, keyboard too small, app performance a bit slow. Plus it's only selling in the US and Canada right?

And Vista is based on NT. MS has no good ideas these days.

I think Apple should just think of something original.

Also, does anyone know if there will be a MacBook Pro update? On the Buyer's Guide it says that they are overdue for an update. If they aren't updated Monday, could they be updated with Steve Jobs' media event at the end of the month?
