Microsoft: cloud-first and very expensive subscriptions
**** you
People buy console games, irrespective of system power. MS screwed up on their first party exclusives (which was a carry over screwup from the XB1 days). MS is taking the slow route towards becoming another Sega in the video game industry. Can you blame Microsoft? The Xbox was superior to Playstation in terms of computing power, but people keep buying the Sony Playstation despite this.
The only growth Microsoft has is Cloud gaming.
The only advantage Microsoft has over Sony is that Microsoft is probably one of the biggest cloud service providers on the planet.
In the next two years, the price of a gamepass subscription will likely increase by 50-100%. Eventually some games will become subscription only. Therefore even if you don't buy the full game at $99. MS will get $30-50 from you per month. As long as you annual spend on gamepass, the equivalent of buying 3-5 games, they will be happy.COD MW3: (AUD) $89
COD BO6: (AUD) $99
So Gamepass saved me ~$190 by having both these games be free so I could delete them after one playthrough, and after the first level, respectively, because they were awful. 🤷♂️

The real win (for gamer) is if the skins are available on other platforms (something Sony doesn't do).Rumour has it that MS was going to bring Halo skins into CoD. I wouldn't be surprised if they use COD as a platform to cross sell their other games. This could be used using skins inspired by Halo, Gears of War and other IP.
The advert posted isn't showing a steamdeck. I believe that is an ASUS ROG Ally.Does GamePass actually run on Linux? The advertisement mentions SteamDeck, which is Linux. This is just a question out of curiosity, I don't want a subscription from Microsoft.
it's browser only :-(That being said there is a way to get gamepass cloud gaming working on the steamdeck. MY son did it, I hadn't asked him how.
I treat hardware requirements like that the same way each time:So who is gonna play Indiana Jones and the Great Circle next week? Console may be the way to play, the required PC specs are pretty ridiculous.
From what I gather the game doesn't offer a means to turn RT off (like Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition).I treat hardware requirements like that the same way each time:
-Play at high not ultra settings.
-Don't enable ray tracing unless it's drop dead gorgeous.
-Switch on resolution scaling if you are below 60fps.
If there is cross save I will play the game on both pc and series x.
Wow. A bit like alan wake 2 and frontiers of pandora that use some form of ray tracing, even if it's software enabled. From what I gather the game doesn't offer a means to turn RT off (like Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition).
EDIT: Guess we will find out tomorrow from all the folk getting early access.

It will be interesting to see how the Series X performs. If hardware enabled ray tracing becomes default then 60fps on the series x will become less feasible unless visuals are set to potato.![]()
Bethesda fixed the typos on Indiana Jones’ PC specs — and answered our question about required ray tracing.

Bethesda says it is HWRT based GI. So yeah that is going to be rough.
Shoot the Series S will be worse. 😭It will be interesting to see how the Series X performs. If hardware enabled ray tracing becomes default then 60fps on the series x will become less feasible unless visuals are set to potato.

Yes. However I'm not sure it's a big problem. I reckon the majority of Series S owners are casual gamers who play fortnite, fifa, madden, verbal, cod and similar life service titles. From day one it's never been a console for anyone who high values eye candy of AAA RPG titles.Shoot the Series S will be worse. 😭
Ehh. I know a few people who aren't like that, that picked up a Series S. Personally if there was a Series S with a disc drive for like $350 I probably would have grabbed it over the X. I don't care that much for graphics. I also imagine there's a bunch of kids/teens that got one as Christmas presents or the like with more varied tastes.Yes. However I'm not sure it's a big problem.
