Preorder was ultimately very smooth for me. I ordered a Pro when preorder started. I didn’t get a lot of communication or updates from Xfinity but the phone showed up on launch day and it’s been all good so far.

I don’t know how slow the throttled speeds are. Xfinity is my secondary line so I don’t use much data.

Huh, did you pre order on Apple site or Xfinity site?

From Xfinity. You can’t purchase an Xfinity phone directly from Apple (but you could buy an unlocked phone from Apple and use it on Xfinity).

I'm thinking of jumping ship from T-Mobile to Xfinity as I already have Xfinity internet. How do you guys like the service? Xfinity has been emailing me offers and I'm tempted to make the jump.

I jumped from AT&T to Xfinity and have had no issues. I pay about $110 less per month for the 2 lines I had on AT&T for Unlimited on both and using Verizons network. Never had any issues with speed or anything. When the world goes back to normal and I start commuting back to work or going to large gatherings with a lot of people such as a concert or sports game I may splurge for the HD Pass, but other than that it's been great.

What’s the HD pass?

What’s the HD pass?

From their site:

HD Pass is an add-on feature for Unlimited that allows you to bump up your video resolution from standard resolution (480p) to high definition (720p for phones, 1080p for tablets). If you prefer HD streaming, just log into your Xfinity Mobile account and go to any line's Data Details. Add it from there for an additional $20/mo each.

It also includes higher quality cellular service in times of network congestion. In other words, other customers may experience temporarily slower data speedsin these high-congestion moments; lines with HD Pass won't.

My second 256 Pro in white shipped yesterday and will arrive tomorrow. Original date was 11/4 I believe.

In other news my first 256 Pro that I received last week worked fine with the SIM I had in my iPhone X, and then somehow stopped working yesterday. The phone kept saying it couldn’t activate and to contact the carrier. I decided to put the new SIM in that they sent with the phone and it didn’t work at first but activated fine within 30 minutes or so and has been fine since.

$110 LESS?? Your AT&T bill was $200/month for two lines? Good grief.

edit—unless you’re saying you don’t have unlimited with XM, that would make more sense.

My Pro Gold is scheduled on Nov. 25 to Dec. 2nd.
I didn't order until Oct. 18th @10:00AM PST.
Have a friend who is using AT&T and ordered the Gold Pro the same day I did, he was given an ETA of Nov. 19th to the 24th. Looks like the Gold is in short supply.

Yup it was $200 for two lines on unlimited and a watch number. On XM I have unlimited on both lines.

Mild thread high jack here but on subject, I need to dump att, Xfinity is supposed to be Verizon, but second class after actual Verizon during peak times? What has everyone’s experience been like with this provider? Thanks!

I’ve never experienced any slowdowns. I don’t live in a major metropolitan area, though. Just a normal sized city. It’s been the best coverage I’ve had out of AT&T and T-Mobile. Good reception underground, in elevators, parking garages, etc.

They do limit streaming video on unlimited to 480p, but I rarely stream video when not on WiFi, unless it’s youtube. You can pay $20 to have that limitation removed.

I’ve had XM for about two years, I had Verizon before that. I conserve data intentionally to save cost and don’t stream but I have noticed it being a little slower recently than it was before. The phone works perfectly, data is just a little slower. It’s totally useable (unlike Sprint) but won’t win any speed contests.

Edit- this seems to have started around the time they announced deprioritization and plan changes several months ago. Before that it was just like Verizon in terms of speeds.

edit 2-I have used my hotspot to connect to my work VPN and stayed connected for over 600 miles including on IP conference calls with no issue as recently as this month. Once again, it’s totally Usable but won’t win speed contests.

Has anyone here who uses XFinity mobile bought your iPhone 12/12Pro from Apple- an unlocked phone? If so, did it work to just move your SIM card over to the new phone, or did XFinity Mobile customer support have to do anything to help get it activated?

Should just work as long as you're moving the SIM from an active line. The new device might not show up on the Xfinity site under your account. That's probably the extent of an "issue" you might face.

Mine has shipped!

12 Pro / Graphite / 256gb
Mine is stuck at the fedex sorting facility(destination) since 4AM. They could have delivered it today and they dont deliver on Saturday since its weekday delivery. I have to wait until Monday. Fedex is testing my patience.

Seems to be a FedEx practice. If you pay for two day service but it gets to the depot in one day, they add a note that it’s not due for delivery and throw it on a shelf.

Mines not here until Tuesday. I’m just happy I’m getting it and an issue didn’t happen, because the account number for the card I used to pre order changed. I had a temp card that was cancelled when I activated the physical card.

Question about the sim card. Does the 12 pro have the same type and size sim card as the other iPhone models?
The CSR I talked to said the sim card in my 8 plus wouldn't fit in the new 12 pro and I would have to use the one they send and activate it.
