It's great that Apple is adding all of these new channels but I think it is quickly becoming clear that the UI for the Apple TV needs to be completely redesigned.

The process of trying to find something specific you want to watch is becoming more and more cumbersome, especially using the Apple Remote. There's no real order or organization for finding anything and the more that is added the worse it gets. Also, there is no way to just "flip" channels to find something that interests you at that moment which is the way most people watch TV. I'm still waiting to find out how Apple is going to "revolutionize" TV.

I don't see how some idea from like 5 years ago is going to revolutionize anything. Whatever idea they had must have stalled and then fell apart.

So you are not going to help me with the Airplay situation because I do not agree with you? How kind of you.

I directed you to the appropriate forum. There I, and any number of other people would be glad to help you - so long as you don't come in yelling 'Airplay Sucks!' again.

I see Lady Gaga on the screen! GET THAT PROMO GIRL

She was good on SNL, but damn, did she have to plug her album at the end again? We all know Gaga that you have an album.

I'm surprise Amazon is not selling her new album for 99 cents...again!

What Apple TV should add next: Epix HD, Cinemax Go, Showtime Anytime, Starz Play and Encore Play.

What is your problem? You obviously can not help me and that is your problem that I do believe Airplay is terrible and does not work. It is clear now that some people can not handle opinions.

More content is always great.

Personally - I still can't figure out why they don't have a search capability for your own library. I have over 700 movies in iTunes and I have to scroll through them to get to the one I want. And no - I don't want to hook up a keyboard. I'd like to be able to search at LEAST by first letter...

I know what you mean with the apple supplied remote, I'm into the 1000's, but Apple Remote app on iPhone / iPad is your friend!

PBS comes to Apple TV

In Canada, there is no PBS channel on Apple TV. I do not understand why Apple does not provide Canadians with the same level of service.

It doesn't matter. Amazon is a direct competitor to Apple at large and for that reason they will likely remain locked out of the best experience.

Airplay works flawlessly - we stream multiple HD streams around the house almost every day. If it doesn't work, you have an internal network problem.

That makes absolutely no sense. Amazon Prime is all over my iPad, my iPhone, iPod, etc. There's another reason I'm sure. But why would HULU plus or Netflix be there? Both are very similar models to Amazon Prime.

I understand them not having Amazon rentals, but Amazon prime should be there.

That's just proper forum etiquette to direct the user to the APPROPRIATE forum location. Otherwise, you will be hijacking the thread, and people will be answering something that has (more times than not) already been discussed in detail elsewhere.

Just played around with Yahoo Screens app.. It's sort of "meh". I got excited for a moment about Daily Show and Colbert Report, but all they offer are short 2-5 minute snippets, not full episodes.. Same for ABC News, and the rest of it.

I would like to be able to watch the entire 30 minute newscast. Have zero desire clicking around a bunch of couple of minute long news clips. I feel that all these "sampler" apps do is try to frustrate users into signing up for cable subscription.

Another app deleted from my home screen.

My question is how do we start turning off apps or reorganizing them so that the 90% of the apps we (broad generalization) don't watch aren't in the way?

You can already do that. Hold down the middle button and the buttons start to wiggle just like they do on the iPhone and iPad. Then you can use the arrows to move them around.

Ugh, i feel you man....

About time in the UK we had iPlayer, 5Demand, 4OD, ITV Player on the Apple TV to make it useful.

Oh my gerd. I still don't understand why they haven't implemented this. They're fine with implementing channels for the USA'ers but here in the uk we just get the simple useless channels.

If we could get PBS via the Apple TV here in the UK, I could cancel my entire Sky satellite subscription and switch entirely over to Freeview.

Come on!

Would you mind sharing a little more information. First, are you talking about pure Airplay or Airplay Mirroring or both. I think pure Airplay is much better the mirroring. My experience is that there is a definite difference in HD Quality when using Airplay vs. direct streaming. However, I would love to be wrong. I have a new Airport Extreme in the next room and my ATV is on ethernet. Also, I think Mirroring is maybe loosing the 1080p setting (not sure).

remote app

Can someone please tell me why in the world they wouldn't have a "home" button for the remote app or remote control! It drives me nuts pressing menu 17 times to get there.... /rant

Partial refund please Apple

I think Apple should offer a partial refund to all their customers outside the US, because they are not working (full stop) on adding any new content to our much more expensive Apple TVs. It is clear they are now selling products which have missing content when purchased outside the US. Shame on you Apple for not even trying!

I've just signed up for a Virgin TeVo for this reason. Silly, really that there's no iPlayer app yet. Also that these new apps are US only. Why can't we see the yahoo content?

Press and hold down menu once. It will go back.

The remote app actually mentions this in its startup tutorial.

I'm willing to bet if you change your region to US (and possibly use unblock-us) this is doable. My wife is too busy watching the Carrie Diaries for me to find out...

I updated, but am unable to access the PBS app - it doesn't even get to the login. I already have a PBS login, but never get that far; it just winds up with "not available" or some such.

Netflix has 3d content

Whaa? Where? Please let me know by directing me to a link or something.. I have not been able to find any 3D content, while having all the necessary equipment at home. THe only way for me to watch 3D movies is by buying them, and I really don't buy mopvies anymore.. just rent or stream via subscription services.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

Because it's Amazon, that's why. Netflix and Hulu don't compete with Apple. Amazon does. It's amazing how people don't understand this.

he PBS apps is a greatest hits on my kids iPads. now this will be more fun with the apple TV. nice update!
