Do you trade up every year? May not be worth the struggle if you find one you can "deal with"

I usually do cause work pays my cell phone bill (including NEXT charges). I got lucky on the 6 and the 6S so I was thinking they worked it out - guess not. This year is one of the worst Ive seen.

the new display accommodations is essentially color profiles huh?

Yes it is, but in the end the yellow panels have other characteristics that bother me - namely less sharp text, worse contrast, and lower brightness levels. The brightness levels always bothered me because I'd have to turn up the brightness to get to the same level as my old phone - killing battery. One of the main reasons this is such a big deal this year is because apple promised +25% brightness, so people are up in arms about that, but thats also a side effect of the yellow screens - so I guess awareness in any capacity is better than nothing :/

My display is warmer but I don't notice anything inferior to my 6 Plus. It's definitely brighter then my 6 Plus.

Cool, maybe you got a good one. If whites still look nice and white and colors are accurate you are good, even if slightly warmer. An all over yellow tint isnt warmer is just offensive to look at.

Black 7 on AT&T, serial no. C6 (left) and my original 6 (right). Both at 100% brightness, auto brightness off. Not thrilled.

Went to the apple store today and compared my 7+ with the one on display; mine is definitely more yellow.

i just came back from the Apple store after simply returning by Matte black for a Gold since Im still under my 14 days...Immediately I noticed the difference on the screen color, now this Gold 7 128GB has the real nice white screen, not the yellowish/tarnish color i had on my Matte, so if you are still within your 14 days i suggest you return your device and get a new one, no questions asked as long as you're within 14 days. Good luck !

I had a silver that was only slightly better - I returned it for matte black and the above is what I ended up with. Genius Bar reservations aren't available until next Wednesday. I'm going to try to make a new IUP reservation and just return the bad one at the same time.

What are people doing with their yellow screens at this point?
Mine is yellow, I loved the display on my 2nd 6S, my first was yellow too but the replacement was perfect.
I've never dealt with the yellow screen issue so early after a launch and don't know how it works with replacements. I'd prefer not to have to go through a whole Genius bar appointment.

genius bar or retail exchange

Every year it's the same thing. What I can't figure out for the life of me is how the iphone display models always have perfect screens. I must of checked 20 different 7's and 7+'s and they looked brighter, whiter (cooler) and most importantly uniform.

They must get special models...

This has been going on for years! No matter how many exchanges I've done, none looked like the demo models :). I've had every iPhone since the 4. Something is not right there. I'm sure it's pure marketing.

I'm surprised there hasnt bee a class action suit against them for this.

Seems like not legit to show off nothing but perfect devices ?!

Bummer man, sorry it is that out of whack.

I just got my 7+ and can only compare it to my 6 since my wife is out of town with her 6S and 6S+ but my 7+ looks just a hint of yellow / warm compared to my 6 and it definitely brighter.

The 7 one looks pretty bad man...hope they change yours for free. It just looks like if the nightshift were on.

It's not perfect, but after seeing some of the phones in here... I think I'll stick with what I have.. to my eyes it looks fine for some reason lol. I have no hissing, and no other issues. My phone seems perfect, so im def not gonna chance it for the screen

using my new iPhone 7 now for about 4 hours and my screen remains yellow-ish. Tried reboot, dfu and then iOS 10.0.1 installed. Nothing really helped.

I read some people saying the glue needs to dry out, others say that is b*llshit.

more iPhone 7 (Plus) owners with a yellow(ish) screen?
I just got an iPad Air 2 and it has this issue.
After the iPad is on for about an hour it gets better.

Maybe this is why so many phones are slow to arrive.

nope. iPhones have had the yellow screen issue from the very first iPhone. This is nothing new.

This is not true. If the screen is yellow, it will remain yellow. The whole 'it turns from yellow to normal after a few hours or days' is a myth.

Well guys this is my third iPhone 7 Plus, and I keep getting a similar serial number and yellowing on the bottom half of the screen. The third one isn't that bad, but you can see a bit of yellow and it's a bit dimmer. My second phone was way dimmer and yellower than the display model. My third phone wasn't as good as the display, but better than my second phone. Might give it a week and see what happens.

Also, my screen keeps dimming on its own, even with auto-brightness off. I showed the associate my hiss problem as well. All three phones have hissed too.

I'm telling ya, Apple stores must either selectively choose their demo models or they receive a special batch (maybe all "A" quality phones from manufacturer). I've showed Apple geniuses in the past and they typically agree and exchange it right away. I've have gone as far as asking for one of their display models if there is no difference.

Bottom line - It's reasonable to expect the retail and display models to be the same.

I've learned this in the past already lol and gave up trying to find one that matches the demos.
