I have a feeling they can handle it.
But can the retailers?
Stocking hundreds of $100 iPods is far different than stocking hundreds of $500 iPhones.
I have a feeling they can handle it.
I'm hoping all of these leaked images and videos are fake, because the colors look nasty. Offering different colors is great, but not like this. Not like this.
Has any of these folks with access to the iPhone 5C rear shell indicated how the plastic feels? Is it premium plastic like Nokia or HTC or Motorola or slimy Samsung plastic?
I bought one and learned my mistake. Cracks, cracks, cracks galore! (it actually wasn't THAT bad for me... only around the speaker and mic grilles) And I treated my phone right, too.
And before the naysayers slam me, Apple lost a class action for denying warranty claims for this very reason...
They are not putting in the old 2008 CPU/GPU. It will have all of the same innards as the iPhone 5 currently has at the very least if not faster. The screen is also going to be at least as good as the iPhone 5 has. The cameras will be as good if not better than the Iphone 5.The screen, the build, the tech, etc. It was amazing in 2008. Now not so much. It's all old and outdated.
This is not about what Apple likes or does not like. I am talking about SEC regulations governing publicly traded companies and how these leaks can potentially damage shareholder value.
I'm actually waiting for someone to say that "it looks cheap"...![]()

Why would it need to be tied to a carrier?
The problem is (I'm assuming) you probably sport your iPhone naked (as do I, can't stand covering up a sexy phone with crappy cases) but you're not thinking of the broader market. You have to realize we, fans on this site, are the less than 1% of the market. You know who is the biggest market? The people who put nasty, crappy cases on their phones.
Then how do you explain the compromise edition of the iPad?
Well SJ, i.m.h.o, didn't told the truth then. Apple's behavior towards the patent wars makes it also kinda hard to believeI've been using product ever since the Macintosh 7100 and knowing apple and their approach to the market also indicates that what SJ said is just simply not accurate to put it mildly
It's all about mass production now, ST also considered to quite the Pro Line, why? Not because those where Apple worst computers, in reality they where Apple finest products even, they didn't sell good enough to the masses...
The list goes on to make SJ and Apple PR philosophy approach at least arbitrary.
I love Apple and their products, but I'm not naive thinking that Apple doesn't care about where they are standing in the market and where they are heading towards.
You really think that is true? If I was the head of a business I would say the same thing to generate interest in my products. Apple is a business. If selling a lower cost iPhone will bring in more customers than it would have before, I expect them to do so. Apple will see increased revenue from their software services (especially the App store). Also its very likely that someone who is happy with their lower cost iPhone buys another Apple product such as an iPad or even a computer. Not to mention this gets all iOS devices to have the same screen size/resolution/charging port. If you ask me, this is a great move for Apple
Because A) Steve Jobs is no longer around, sorry, but what he would have done is irrelevant, Apple can't make decisions based on what Steve Jobs would have done in 2010, B) times have changed, there's far more competition, Apple has been at the top and at some point they'll become desperate to stay there, and C) people who can't spend $650 on a phone still deserve a good smartphone experience, whether that be here in the US or in an "emerging market." Just because it's "less" than the iPhone 5 doesn't mean it's not better than a similar mid-range device from a competitor. You can offer an amazing product at various price points, they don't all have to be top of the line.
To ignore emerging markets would be a HUGE mistake IMO. To ignore young people (who may be more likely to buy this - either because of price, durability, or just because it's colorful) would be a mistake. I'm 100% behind Apple on this.
Plus, if Apple follows their pattern of - new model one year / refresh the next year - this means we'll be seeing a "new" iPhone every year. And that could be huge in areas of the world where people have the money to upgrade frequently.
Of course now 20 people will come along telling me I'm wrong, just telling it how I see it.
I call BS on "treating it right." I had a 3GS for 3 years and I dropped it on pavement more than once and still didn't have any cracks.
Then how do you explain the compromise edition of the iPad?
other than bigger screens, what is everyone else doing that is not "old and outdated"?
What does that have to do with this phone? The only real similarities to the 3G/GS is the plastic casing.
Does anyone even like this pastel color pallet they're choosing from? Could that phone be a more disgusting shade of yellow?![]()
Will the yellow model come in black?
I think you can only get the yellow in white or green.
If you want black you'll need to get the red.
