For the people saying color filters mess up their colors, this is an 11 Pro Max. Feel free to try it with a 12 variation. The intensity is all the way to the left, hue a little over halfway to the right.
First photo with color filter on, second with it off. Taken by a 7 Plus. Which wow I miss LCD, this screen is still beautiful. Touch ID, I miss it.

I agree it looks better with the filter. But I’ve found other colours look strange. As an example if you turn on light mode and click the share file/photos button you will see the boxes are in a strange colour.
Hmm. I use dark mode 100% of the time but perhaps this color difference is within iOS? It doesn't look different at all without color filters on? Makes me think they are already yellowish but without filters applied, it blends in?
Yeah it’s certainly something in iOS. Maybe a transparency filter. Interestingly if you take a screenshot of it, it looks fine.
Just wait until you wake up in the morning and look at the phone. Can you really be sure if you didn’t test it or take pics??My second 12 Pro definitely has a cooler screen than my first one. Don't have any comparison pics but the first phone compared with my Macbook Pro was noticeably warmer on the same brightness level. New phone is pretty much identical in colour temp to the Macbook. If you really look it's a tiny bit warmer but you wouldn't notice unless comparing side by side. New phone has pretty much no blue shift as well.
Just shows there are good panels out there.
I don't know if it would make any difference but the first phone was week 37 production and the new phone is week 43 production.
I compared both phones to my Macbook Pro screen. Screen brightness was set to the same across all 3 devices. The first phone was noticeably warmer compared with the Macbook Pro and was still noticeable using the phone normally. The new phone is pretty much the same colour temp as the Macbook Pro and is far better than the original phone in normal usage. Can you really be sure if you didn’t test it or take pics??
Agreed. I'll believe it is a major problem when someone posts two 12s next to each other showing a major difference. I am sure there are minor differences that some people may be more sensitive to than others, but it's hard for me to believe there are major differences on the same device unless the phone is very obviously defective (and if that's the case, it wouldn't be so widespread).either this is something everyone has or we are all here because we’re unlucky

Don't get me wrong. I know bad screens are out there sometimes at launch because my launch iPhone 7 was clearly yellow and the replacement was not. So I am not doubting that. But there are SO many people saying their screen is bad and I feel "bad" is relative to the individual. People coming from an LCD screen might think a normal "proper" 12 screen is bad, where as someone from an 11 Pro might think that same screen is perfect, etc.Keep in mind they are shipping millions of these. Widespread is relative.
There is extreme variation. Thats the point of this thread. Many in this thread have been successful at getting a non-yellow unit. It's not "supposed to be yellow this year". Good screens exist.
Guys, even my express replacement's back glass has more yellow in it than my original 12 Pro. What is going on?
This is interesting actually. Ive been arguing that the yellow panels have a film or residue under the laminate that causes this. But what if the glass itself is the culprit/whats defective? Interesting. Anything’s possible.Guys, even my express replacement's back glass has more yellow in it than my original 12 Pro. What is going on?
Less than 48 hours for me. You need Apple Care + though. How long did an express replacement take? Also, how did you get them to agree to a replacement? My screen is white but I’m having an issue with wifi/cellular and want to swap it out for a new one. I thought about just returning this one but it says a new one won’t arrive until the end of November.
does the model number for the replacement say N or M?I'd be staggered if anyone had a 12 pro display that matched their macbook display. I express replaced my X, 11 Pro and now 12 Pro for this issue and every replacement was identical. Every phone was miles away from my macbook white point, which matches my professionally calibrated TV and other devices.
