I agree that the screen is more yellow by default but my main issue is indeed with True Tone which is just so much more aggressive than what I've experienced on other devices.

I also had/have an issue where True Tone would stop adapting to the ambient light and was stuck in a very "warm" mode, even for example on a cloudy day outside. This was only fixed by a reboot and has happened again a couple of times thereafter.

The iPhone 12 pro max (in the middle of photo) I have is very warm/yellow. Reported to a
Apple who said they were aware of the issues and the engineers are looking into it but would not exchange the item instead told me to contact my retailer for a refund. Not helpful as this would leave without a phone and no one seems to have them in stock at the moment.

You have True Tone on. Turn it off then compare.

Has anyone also experienced screen flickering on Twitter and Reddit dark mode? this launch just continues to get worse
I have flickering on black screens.

this pushed me to return my phone.

going to be so much happier when i go back in February and get a functional 12 pro.

I encourage others to do the same if you’re gonna have the phone for awhile.

I have an Apple support case open right now and I’m supposed to receive a call back tomorrow she also told me that the engineers were looking into it. I’m curious if they will offer me a replacement or tell me to wait longer until they figured out the issue.

I contacted Apple via chat and they told me it would need to be repaired/exchanged (they didn’t mention anything about this being a known issue, but they did ask me very specific questions about viewing angles) and suggested I return it within the normal 14-day period since it’s so new. They told me the Sales department would handle that and gave me a link to chat with them. The rep told me they wouldn’t be handling that, instead the shipping department (?) would, and they can only be contacted via phone. So I called them and went through the whole robot shebang with entering my order number and what not, and lo and behold, they say they "can’t put me through to an expert right now" and just hang up. This is unreal lol

Same! Callback tomorrow. I reported last Wednesday I think so they've had a full week now. It will be interesting to see what they say.

It's confusing seeing different experiences from support...

I had my callback today. Got told to reset factory settings lol. ther than that the only option is sending it back for a refund/return.

I will try resetting it, but doubt it’ll make any difference unfortunately.

On the other hand, fortunately the extended christmas return applies to my order.

I doubt the panel will get any different on the 12 lineup this year. Between 12, mini, pro, PM, all of us seem to have warmer displays to a certain degree. That can’t be a defect across all panels on all of these phones.

The flash makes it hard to see the screens. You should re-take the photos without flash. That said, I think your pro max looks pretty good.

They will not even exchange it out? If they admit that the engineers are looking at the problem then I do not understand why they would think reseting to factory settings would fix it. This is unacceptable!
