Its funny to read some of these reviews and comments... so i might as well add mine.

----
The cover will trigger the power/sleep feature when folded back ALL THE WAY. As somebody said earlier its easy to adjust so it doesn't happen... but it happens. Hopefully something thats fixed in version 2.

There you go... my $0.02c worth. After using it for a day at work i'm super happy with $40 purchase. Is it the best cover ever... no.. but it is the best cover that is currently available that fits my needs/wants.

Great comments... I share the same thoughts. I found it kind of neat that I can actually wake the iPad with just a nudge on the cover after the sleep timeout. It's easier than to use the other hand to click the wake button and slide to unlock.

So where are most folks buying from? Amazon or this k guy. Btw, can someone please send me the website. Here or PM with price. Thanks.

Anyone know how long it takes until the smell goes away?

I've had my case since Saturday, and the odor is now very faint, would have to put my face right next to it to smell any odor.

I took it over to a friend of mine on the weekend, and she loved it so much, she's taking the extra brown one I ordered. I must say, I really like the very thin profile this case has, it's just so in keeping with the sleek design of the iPad 2, and for the price, I really don't think you can beat it. The leather is soft and supple, protects the iPad on all sides, which is a big plus for me.

I do know from last year, that the people at Yoobao do watch these forums, and appear to design later versions of their cases according to what people seem to want. So for those who are hesitating, you could wait for their next revision, for example that of their "magic case", which I believe does clip closed.

Yes Yoobao has been informed of the issues and are working on them, as far as the glue smell it is a result of the demand, and not letting the glue cure and going straight into the bag verses sitting a few days so the glue smell gets into the leather. A dryer sheet inserted into a empty case does wonders overnight

The magic case for iPad 2 is not available yet, correct?

That is correct it is in the works no time frame as of now

Thanks. Ordered the Marware cases today but this looks pretty good. Hope they fix the minor issues mentioned and I'm a buyer too. Either for this or he magic case.

It's not glue, its coating or oil on the 'smeather' that comes off on your hands and smells.
I was thinking of a velcro closure, not a pretty option but I want it to close tight. I might just cut off the flap and use my Apple smart cover with it. but I do like the stand option with the flap.
I had to turn off the ipad lock feature, cause it is not totally consistent in function with this flap. The front flap closure design of an iPad case is pretty important, this one drops the ball here, but the thinness, coverage, and fit are good.
I would have been happier with a 'real fake leather' version at about $25-30. I assume most of the cost is the 'smeather'.

I'm awaiting the delivery of this case. The reports of the bad smell going away is encouraging, but to be honest, had I waited and seen more of these posts, I wouldn't have ordered it. I'm hoping whatever chemical bath it went through isn't hazardous to my (or my kids') health. :apple:

Wait, can you actually see residue get on your hands from it? Anyone else seeing this?

No.

I got mine yesterday and put it on the outlet vent on an air cleaner in my bedroom for almost 24 hours and the odor is much reduced. I still notice it, but I'm guessing in a week or two it will be completely gone.

I believe it to be real, cheap leather, which means nice smelling leather conditioner can eventually be used.

I adds little weight to the iPad and is very slim.

Functionally, if I have the front folded back my case does not lock. If however I force the back absolutely flat and stretch it towards the edge, I can make it lock. This to me is much like the backlight bleed issue in that a problem can be observed if you are determined to create the perfect conditions to do so.

OK, gotcha. I'm forgetting my Kindle case by Amazon, had somewhat of a bad smell when I first got it and now the only smell left is a leather smell. Hopefully it'll be the same. The review in the video posted above is HD so getting a good look at the cover in action was nice. It looks like the same kind of leather as the Kindle case (which I think is pig skin).

No, you can't see it, but I could feel it on my hands, kinda oily and smelly. Made me want to wash my hands. I may be more sensitive than some, but I don't like breathing and having strong smelling chemicals on me. I'm letting my air off under ceiling fan, it's still not quite ready for me to want to handle it a lot.

Here are some pictures with a white bezel iPad 2. Love the brown!

Wow...the fact that it goes to sleep when you put the cover flat on the back is embarrassing. What a POS.

No thanks.

What a great post, this just added so much to this thread, thank you so much!!!

I just checked my tracking number and I should have mine in on Thursday. It's a black one and I may post some pictures of it, especially the mic hole and speaker holes. Looking at some of these pictures it looks like the speakers holes may not be perfect. Has anybody noticed a difference in sound with and without the case?

No need to get defensive of your purchase son.

Lets not forget that leather lip (dirt trap) that rides around the edge of the most important part of any iPad, THE SCREEN! How can this case possibly be as popular as it is? Like Stangs said it really is a POS in the end, which covers critical, and I mean critical elements of the iPad2-sight and sound.

Good luck with this, at least you can be happy with the fact you didn't spend a ton of money like I did the case I ordered. But at least the screen isn't covered! Willing to pay a premium to have my ENTIRE screen visible and my speaker uncovered as well. There are much better options out there than this case.
