It's a temporary thing until we all get cases which act as 'Smart Covers'.. Honestly, the Smart Covers are cool, but they don't protect ANYTHING, and over time, they begin to show wear and tear.. mine is starting to darken around the edges (i'm assuming from the oil in my skin, and from contact in general), not to mention the hinge shaving issue where it's leaving dark what I perceive to be metal dust from the hinges on the side of my iPad.. it's easy enough to just wipe off, but it's still a nuisance..

the Smart Cover is smart... but it's going back as soon as my Yoobao gets here.. hell, I may not even want the money back.. I may just exchange it for the Camera Connection Kit, or the HDMI Kit.. who knows..

I don't know what's different about mine but I've had my smart cover on since launch day (19 days now) and haven't had any metal dust from hinge shaving or marks on my ipad. I just checked again and there's none. I never remove the cover, its always magnetically attached so maybe that has something to do with it.

I also ordered Monday and received it today. Yes, it does smell, and I have no doubt it will fade in a few days. Fit is great, and it looks great.

Mine sat by me on my desk for 9 hours yesterday... by the end of the day i think i had a good buzz going :D.

Its not as bad today... Its still my only complaint with this case.

Sucks to be an early adopter.

LOL - I agree - I actually got a tension headache from the smell.

Yeah, i'm going to let it air a few days in the garage before starting to use it. I can wait until the weekend.

Got mine today. Awful odor to the point my contact lens started acting up. Smells like paint thinner. Have it over a fan now and will see if this will help.

Got my red one today and the smell was minimal however I suspect this might be due to the fact that the case box was open in the package which might have helped it to air out.

Can someone tell me the exterior dimensions of this case? I would appreciate it.

I want to see if it will fit in my Timbuk2 iPad envelope sleeve for when I am on the road.

Been using my red case for 2 days but the smell is horrible although better! When I hold the iPad in landscape mode with the home button on the right, flapping the cover to the back, shuts the iPad off. However, if the home button is on the left all works fine.

thanks for the video, nice review. i was hoping that you might have mentioned a little about if it stays tight enough when closed. some has mentioned it's too lose and some are ok with it, but i guess i'll have to wait and see on my own when i receive it.

To me it stays closed fine when sitting on it's back, if you flip it upside down then yes the lid will open on it's own.

Has anyone tried to put leather conditioner on their yoobao yet? I have some boot conditioner that im thinking of trying out on it.

My concern with that is it would seal in the smell and allow it to slowly leak out over months, instead of supposedly going away in a few days or weeks.

I had an iphone leather case off of eby that came and smelled similar (though not as bad). I through it in a corner and over a few weeks it became fine and now you would never know.

I really hope that happens to the Yoobao case too. It has been 3 days and I still can't stand to touch the thing. The smell is better, but it still comes off on your fingers. I can't believe people have put their ipad in these smelly cases.

But maybe in a few weeks I wll be able to use it.

the smell is definitely still there ... mine has been out for past 3 days - this isn't good, my Ipad 2 arrives tomorrow

Looking at some of these pictures it looks like the speakers holes may not be perfect. Has anybody noticed a difference in sound with and without the case?

Considering that the speaker grille/holes on the iPad 2 are incredibly tiny, you actually EXPECT that the holes in a case will line up "perfectly?" Seriously?

You'd need mosquito netting to do that.

I received the brown Yoobao iPad case from AYL of Amazon today. I have to admit they sure do ship fast. It took two days from California to New York. The smell is bad and very strong but hopefully will wear off by time my iPad shows up. It's not due to be shipped until April 20th. The case looks like it will be fine for the iPad. I too just returned the Smart Cover for a refund. I wanted the iPad to be a little more secure than what the Smart Cover had offered.

Bought and received red last week for my wife and the smell is almost all gone. The Yooboo case is of much better quality and fit than I expected, I decided to get one for myself in brown and use it until the the otterbox defender comes out.

Just received my brown cover. I do like it, but people aren't kidding about the smell! It's on the back deck airing out as I type.

I was surprised that the Yoobao cover is *slightly* (maybe 1/4") longer than my Incase cover. It is much thinner than the Incase, though, and weighs in at just over 6 oz, while the Incase weighs about 12 oz.

I plan to keep both. The Incase for when I take the iPad out and about (more protection with just the cover), the Yoobao for at home and for travel use with my Incase Travel Kit Plus.

I love the sleep function of the Yoobao. As other posters have mentioned, the accidental sleep thing only happens to me when I push the front cover completely tight over the back. If I leave a little slack at the top, no problem with the iPad accidentally going to sleep.

PS: Got both my Incase and Yoobao covers for just slightly more than I paid for my leather smart cover, which I have returned. :)

Do you have the black iPad 2? If so, could you post a few pics inside the brown case? Dying to see what this looks like and haven't seen any images online of this combination... thanks!

My iPad 2 is white, sorry. But I think this cover would look great with a black iPad 2... I love black and brown together!:)
