I'm a long time Lurker but new member. I've been searching out reviews mostly for the cases because i've used the apple case since launch, but I did pull the trigger on the Yoobao Magic case after reading reviews here (and now seeing that some were likely from the seller, which is a bit unnerving) anyway. I do like the case but can tell instantly that I will prob have an issue with the closure because of the way the felt is pulled away when trying to close right at the seam line. This is posted elsewhere, and I think if it were the belt type closure I would have been better, but overall, Faux leather and all, i still like the case for the money spent. If the closure deteriorates, I can buy a new case and still be under the price of the Vaja Agenda 2 that I've driven myself crazy over for months and just couldnt pull the trigger on. I'm happy w/ the Magic Case and like the angles. I know Scoche came out with an identical one too if people are concerned about ebay. My experience w/ the ebay seller mentioned on this forum many times was a positive one.

**I will say this does add a bit of weight and it is noticeable, but not a huge deal. I also am not noticing the smell and/or it just doesnt bother me. It's been sitting in my office fresh out of the package for about 2 hours.

I recently purchased one from the guy in NY on eBay and believe I received a fake...high quality fake but a fake. The box was marked "SIM Case" rather than "sLim" case. The instructions are printed on an inkjet cut to size with very poor English translation.

I am happy with the case and think it is of high quality, but ticks me off I paid full retail for a fake.

Anyone else have the same experience?

Hmmm.. Could this be a certain banned other seller signing in under yet another account to bash the competition? Post a pic!

Hardly.... Don't know who the good guys and bad guys are on here.

Can't post pick as I'm on the road this afternoon with only Ipad and Iphone. Will gladly email you the picture from my phone so you can post in the thread. Pm me with you email address or explain to me how to pull the picture off of my phone and get up.

(Double posting here as well, as I also posted on the above users pic from the other Yoobao vs Power suppor thread...)

Hey guys...WilWiredTV (I did the above linked review..) here! It's funny, even after doing my review and loving the SLIM, I NEVER noticed that typo till you posted that pic (Funny how our minds sometimes auto-translate typos on us..). I did contact my original sellar for this product and it was indeed bought from an official rep with Yoobao.

So yes, they are official, just a bad typo...it's been reported back to Yoobao. Enjoy the case!

I ordered a slim from a guy in NY also. Mine should be here Monday. That's pretty funny about the typos.

My v2 case isn't holding up that well. The leather has all peeled up off of the retention clip in the back and the spine of the case is now split showing the white grain of the stuff underneath. So for what I paid for it ($25?) you can consider this a 'disposable' case. Its about 4 months old, gets used every day and travels in its own compartment in my backpack.

Definitely not built for durability.

My v3/"Magic" case is still as good as new, I'm pleased to report. A very robust design. It's why, much as I like them, I can't bring myself to order a comparatively fragile Dodocase to replace it.

Wow your report is discouraging. I have the slim case and I think the material is pretty much the same material as the V2 case. What color is yours? I did have a brown one that had some black on the edges of the tab on the back and I tried to wipe it thinking it was dirty. Wiping it made it worse as it took the tan color off the leather and made it worse. So I guess the leather is definitely not dyed through. I've had edging peel off straps on expensive Coach bags so although it stinks, it is a common problem with the material they edge with. The split on the spine should really not happen.

Have you checked on a warranty? If you look at the global distributor site for Yoobao they show a 12 month warranty. I would send the seller a photo and request a replacement or refund.

I bought it from dxplxy or whatever his name is on here. He was speedy with delivery and the price was pretty cheap. You get what you pay for I'm guessing. I wouldn't buy another one of these cases, however. Its a good design and I'm guessing if you were very gentle with it then its fine. I bought a case so I did NOT have to be 'gentle' with it. But I wasn't harsh with it either. It just didn't hold up very well.

After about a week i'm still really liking the Magic Case. I was a bit put off by the closure as it was already bunching up on day one making it difficult to close and stay closed. I contacted the seller on ebay who immediately responded offering to either replace w/ a new Magic Case, or trade it for a Slim case. After a day of considering, I opted to just stick w/ the one I have. I dont think the clasp was designed well at all, but i really like being able to view in multiple angles so I opted to just deal w/ the clasp issue. If they would design a new case w/ the angle adjustmetns and a belt like strap I think it would be the ultimate case in my opinion. My only other con on the Magic is the weight that it adds to the overall package, but oh well.

Well my thoughts on the Yoobao Slim are it's a very nice case...but I didn't like it. I suppose i just don't like cases at all. I'd rather have my iPad naked(well...with a skin).
The Slim case fits SUPER tight. I'm sure it would work perfect with a naked iPad, but it screwed up every edge of my skin. I'm not too happy about that, but i can deal with it. However, I use my iPad fairly far from my router and found out i get terrible signal with the case on. After removing it it worked fine. The case itself is great quality and seems like it would be great for someone who wants a case.

Magic Case - Brown

So I have read through the forum and really cannot decide between the Slim and Magic cases. I think I would prefer the Magic, but I would like it in Brown. They show it in brown on their website. Any idea where to get a Magic Case in Brown? Thanks.

Yoobao Slim case

Just got my tan color, Yoobao Slim case in the mail today. I like it a lot. Very solid, feels like quality materials. Color is more exciting than the common black colors, to me anyways.
(posted these pics in the new purchases, thought I'd post them here too for the sake of this thread)

Hey! I just love your Yoobao Slim case especially the color, it’s very elegant! :)

Pre-Ordered my "Slim Magic" case in black yesterday, hoping it will arrive by early next week.. Used the Targus Truss case for a few days but it was just too heavy and large not to mention one of the corner clips believe it or not covers the Wake/Sleep button.. But after using the Targus case for a while I will have a comparable case to compare it too(both are leather cases which have multiple horizontal viewing options).. I'll let you guys know what I think when the Slim Magic case arrives..

Nice.

That looks like the Yoobao V2. As they have several other newer versions I would think that one would be cheaper now. Try eBay.

FYI - I had that V2 case for less than a week and the leather warped and puffed where the front cover pushes into the tab on the back cover. Both actually puffed out where the stress points were. I sent it back. I think another on this thread also had complaints about unusual wear in only 3 months.

After many purchases and returns I landed on the Yoobao slim case which is really perfect for my needs. I have it in both black and brown and would purchase it in another color if they had more.

Can anyone take a picture of the inner lining of the binding of the Slim? I want to see if the lining is one pc from the front cover the back cover or if is joined at the binding by stitching.

I have an XGear Live Carbon Folio and my one dealbreaker is that the lining is 2 pcs, and its just glue to the binding, so over a few weeks time its separated and peeled back.

If it were stitched the thing would be perfect!

I took a photo of the interior faux suede ling of the slim. How do I out it I the thread? I tried to copy and paste but that didn't work. The lining is one solid piece with stitching at the binding.
