I didn't activate any additional protections after the breech, was something enabled automatically?I’m also getting this error during the IUP process. My running theory is that it might be related to turning on T-Mobile’s Account Takeover Protection after the breach (if anyone here is getting the same error and didn’t turn it on, please chime in).
Not sure, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I actually went through the process of activating their sim-locking feature (they recommended it after the breach).I didn't activate any additional protections after the breech, was something enabled automatically?
Where would I find that setting? Not sure, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I actually went through the process of activating their sim-locking feature (they recommended it after the breach).
yeah, mine was accessed as wellYeah. I never enabled anything either after the breach. I do think it could be related to something they changed on their backend. I do get the message that my info was accessed. I wonder if the ones that can upgrade may have not been affected by the breach.
I'm doing the iPhone Upgrade Program.. might be a different process.I did the pre-preorder steps via apple app/tmobile with no issues. I did pay in full via apple card and doing my trade in with them also. Not sure if that could be why
I'm still unable.Okay i got through but when I did my applying for the citizens loan, it said my card declined however it actually charged my card (I have the funds) and then kicked me back and now wont go through???
Same error for me. Were you part of the sprint to T-Mobile merger? I’m wondering if it had something to do with that as my IUP started with Sprint that is now TMobile.I’m actually getting a different error but all the information is correct.![]()
Thanks for sharing this. Sounds like BS to me though. We don't see other carriers having the same issue. Apple needs to pressure T-Mobile to fix this because it's preventing customers from signing up or using the IUP.This is the response I got from a T-Mobile rep on Twitter (which usually provides superior support over phone and store reps)

Not accurate. Got pre-approved for my SO and she is on her parents 55+ T-Mobile account.Apple is trying to say that tmobile is no longer approved due to e sim, and that it has to be purchased in full & activate later. So the upgrade program would no longer work for tmobile
I talked to a T-Mobile rep earlier and they insisted the issue wasn't with my account or account type. Just to clarify I'm having the same issue as everyone else. This is the response I got from a T-Mobile rep on Twitter (which usually provides superior support over phone and store reps)

No, I'm on the T-Mobile One plan. Are you guys by any chance on a T-Mobile employee account? As I'm an employee and it's giving me the same error. I also read on other forums that tmobile essential plans have these issues too. My cousin has a regular account and the T-Mobile one plan he's IUP worked just fine.
No I’m not on any employee account. I do have a simple choice promo account however I have used the iPhone upgrade program a number of times previously and it worked so there shouldn’t be anything different now. If there was a material change it should have been clearly communicated to plan holders prior. Are you guys by any chance on a T-Mobile employee account?
