That’s weird. I’m a public employee and have never had this issue before
I am a federal employee as well, but I do not have any discounts or government employee perks on my account as far as I know, I asked the tmobile reps about that and they said that the could not see any.. but lets face it.. I wasn't getting the A-Squad in the middle of the night.

It seems, no one has had any luck or a change in the result. I don’t know what T-Mobile and Apple are going to do here, but based on what people were saying about post on reedit let alone here, there is a lot of us who aren’t able to complete this

Yeah something has to be done - it’s way to many to be coincidental but the lack of knowledge about even just what the Apple IUP program is, is extremely problematic- let alone the inability to assist us or provide accurate information.

The other option of you have an Apple Card is to pay it that way and activate later. It actually is half the cost per month than the iUP

I’m on an older Simple Choice plan with multiple promotions and had no issues with IUP (completed pre-approval at 7:25 EST yesterday). Just an FYI for anyone being told that older plans won’t work…

Hi. Can you explain more about the promotion? My problem is what do I do with my current phone since I cannot complete the trade in through the Apple upgrade program.

If you have an Apple Card, you can select no carrier activate later. Pay it on the Apple Card by monthly installments (much cheaper for me) and then it goes through. It just takes you off the iUP

I have an educator discount- so I assume you’re correct. Let’s hope they get it fixed by friday
I’m on a Magneta plan as well, but since I have a military discount I’m on the Magneta Max Military. It seems there is a problem on how they coding accounts with discounts on them

Little help from them too. They finally replied to my tweet so I’m talking to a T-Mobile rep now

If it doesn’t get rectified by early Friday morning, I’m likely just going to go off of the upgrade program, and you activate later with monthly installments on my Apple card

and.....this is why I picked up the Apple Card and kept the card at a 0 balance. I will have 24 equal monthly payments with 0 interest charges and I can pickup my new iPhone from my Apple Store (thank god no cut out and Carrier stolen iPhone this year for me) (yep I have had my AirPod 2's stolen & my iPhone XS Max cut out and stolen, they were SO nice and they let me keep the empty box. 😝)

I've been planning for this time for a while as I am on the Sprint depreciating network I will be forced to go TNX but I get to keep my (SWAC plan, for now) WOO HOO!

I think the problem here is what do you do with your old phone. The upgrade program let you turn it in when upgrading at no cost to you. If you come off the program I imagine you have to pay off the cost of your current phone on top of paying for the new one. That is the big rub.

I was able to prequalify with my preorder with my existing older plan. I was not trading anything in and just went through iUP. I am on T-Mobile One Military/ Veteran plan.

This turns it in as well, and gives quite a credit for it. So it works and very similar fashion and saves me half the monthly payment

In fact, he gave me $640 and treating credit. I just checked

So they don’t know why either …

yes if you pay in full it should work.
That was not my experience. I’m on a regular Magenta plan, my phones are owned outright by me.. No upgrade program, just trying to prepare pre order for 13 Pro with trade-in of my 12 Pro. I choose to pay in full, and when I get to the point of account confirmation, it says my account isn’t eligible. I can choose SIM free - but then I lose out on the additional $200 in T-Mobile promo credit on the trade.
