Normally I'm here saying Jellyfin is free, but ad blockers are way less effort to set up and still free.

Unless you want to watch on your iPhone or iPad I guess. Even then I'm sure there are ways.

Disappointing in see the increase in prices. Will only be a matter of time before other regions also see a hike. Subscription prices are becoming very expensive!

Same. Commercials don't bother us; we just take them as a break. Who wants to sit for an hour without even getting up?

I don't personally watch much YouTube at all, except This Old House content and DIY stuff The kids watch the majority of it.

If we have to get up... we hit the pause button. In the olden days I'd record stuff on the VCR first, so I could watch at my own time and fast forward all commercial breaks. That became even easier when I got a satellite receiver with harddrive in 2003.
After 2017 I ditched it all to replace it with an AppleTV 4K and streaming services. I didn't want to pay anymore for channel we'd never watched and the huge amount of commercials. Streaming was cheaper and programming that we actually liked. We still have the same ATV's today and nothing else.

I wish more creators would go to Nebula.

I'd love to support a variety of the ones I enjoy, but more directly than through EvilMegaCorp-oogle.

Sure, we can pause like everyone else. I'm almost 47, so I remember VCRs. 🙄. Sill not paying.

Only one Apple TV here; it's been relegated to the exercise room. Kids and wife don't care for it and prefer Roku. Since I'm in the only Apple user/owner in our home, it makes sense.

I don't care either way. I watch so little streaming or TV that whatever they want is fine.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The few times I do go out for coffee, I never paid that much for a cup of coffee. Even at Starbucks (only because it's next door to the one office I go too once In a while) I never paid that much.
That’s because you didn’t look at the full conversation.

If you thought about it at scale, it would seem a lot less ridiculous to you.

One user at $2.99 seems laughable to you, but it's not when it's 10 million.

I also currently get it for $0 with ad blocking so it's nothing but profit to them.
good job applying scale to revenue. Now apply that same thought process to cost.

I did try Nebula for a while, but it was just too troublesome to split my watching between two platforms.

Which just further reinforces the value of the YouTube platform as the place to be for discovery.

Nebula’s business strategy has always struck me as being, well, nebulous. Creators need to have established themselves on YouTube first before being identified and picked up by Nebula, where they are presumably paid more to make up for the reduction in views on YouTube.

So at the end of the day, everybody is still piggybacking off the youtube platform.

The only reason I subscribe to YouTube Premium is to no have ads. No other additional feature matters. Adding Music to it is a plus, but I feel it's not as good as Apple Music or Spotify.

If there is a way to block the ads on steaming platforms (Apple TV, Roku, etc..) I would gladly delete my subscription.
