YouTube is YouTube Music, there is no difference. If anything, Music is a benefit that you get on top of YT premium as a standalone app that can act as a music player.

The music catalog is literally just videos of songs that are uploaded to YouTube that you can play w/o ads.

Of course, perhaps YouTube can just say that you are paying for YT Premium, and the Music App is a $1 add on per month, except they give it to you for free instead of charging you for it.
YouTube music also contains official audio recording just like other music streaming service (some people even said the quality is slightly better than Spotify / AM). You can disable the video in the apps.

YT is a far cry from what it was and what it could have potentially have been in the early 2000’s. It’s just a time waste and full of sup par content. Better to read a book
There’s plenty of great stuff on YT, it’s must be you, try optimizing your search.
As if tv is so great, there are also lots of crappy books, just saying.

you could also just listen to free high quality internet radios

also, real internet radio doesn’t trap you in an algorithmic hole like most services will

i beg you all to free yourselves

With overblown content creators whose egos are worse than ever. YouTube used to be the most for silly content. Now it's a business for many, selling crap items.

Alphabet passing on the cost of their $2.7 billion fine

Google loses fight against $2.7 billion EU antitrust fine

BRUSSELS, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Alphabet's Google on Tuesday lost its fight against a 2.42 billion euro ($2.7 billion) fine levied by EU antitrust regulators seven years ago, one of a trio of hefty fines meted out to the company for various anti-competitive practices.

And I'll keep using VPN's to get really cheap plans, YT blocked one country I was using a few weeks ago after 3yrs so I just moved country. The price YT charge is insane, for one I don't want music or any other crap, I just want an ad free free experience on all devices for a reasonable price. If they charged a reasonable price then they wouldn't have to put an effort in to block a hell of a lot of people from using VPN's.

Or just get a free ad blocker.

I use one but I can't install one to every single device that has access to YT, Apple TV for example.

YouTube ridiculous pricing is what always made me not go for it, and less and less I watch YouTube because of their ads.

Exactly. I was paying $120/year for Pandora Premium (ad-free) and putting up with YouTube ads. Now I pay $140/year for YouTube Premium and get YouTube Music Premium included. It’s a no-brainer for me.

Besides SlingTV, it’s the only other streaming service we subscribe to.

Pick your channels wisely, there are plenty add free creators.

most of these services use dopamine breaking addiction algorithms they codesigned with psychologists to legitimately destroy people’s ability to exercise self control just like real drugs

lots of people out there devoting significant life energy to maintaining stable parasocial relationships with content creators, doomscrolling, trapped in digital social environments worse than any high school experience for 12+ hours a day every single day forever

they will kick and scream and want you gone if you suggest any of this isn’t healthy

it is a level of hyper individualism that has stopped making sense because the algorithms can truly provide you with endless things to hate and love

I watch mostly on Apple TV, so that is not really an option. And the sites are getting better and better at circumventing the ad blockers on PC browsers, which turns it into a perpetual game of offense vs. defense.
I just airplay from my brave browser on iPad Pro. Way too many subscriptions to avoid ads.

I work hard for my money, aint being forced to spend it via black mail, pay or watch more adverts. if it's something I really need to watch then I will wait. if YouTube make it so we have to pay, then I won't. simple as that.

Youtube has a problem

There is zero way they can innovate their business model to increase revenue streams

They only have price hikes.

Same as other streaming companies.

What warning? I use both so I don’t know, AdGuard always worked for me but I added vinegar to get PIP

All frogs thrown into cold pots. They turned up the heat so slowly that you barely noticed you were getting conned as you boiled to death. If you simply stop buying it, like Subway $15 dollar subs, they'll drop the price.
