I meant the YouTube war.Wipr or any content blocker for Safari, Ublock for all other browsers. The war is far from over.
It's still Firefox + uBlockOrigin FTW

uBlock always did the trick for me, but then I got an Apple TV and started watching a lot of YouTube from the couch. Then I noticed how nice it was not having the ads when I occasionally watched on an iOS device, and then I realized ooo I can watch YouTube on my phone and ipad more often now lol. It's always the convenience, gets me every time.IMO, life is too short to watch commercials, so even if they do raise the price for the US, I will keep it as I watch far too much YouTube to not have Premium.
I block ads everyday on my AppleTV on YT. I just airplay on my Mac to either one of my Apple TVs. Works great.I watch mostly on Apple TV, so that is not really an option. And the sites are getting better and better at circumventing the ad blockers on PC browsers, which turns it into a perpetual game of offense vs. defense.
I think much of that $22.99/month membership is for music, which we do not use as we also have Apple One subscription with Apple Music. So then, I must compare their price against other video streaming services, such as Disney+, Hulu, Max, Netflix, Paramount+, and Peacock. Is it?
If I may ask...
How many people in your family?
How many average hours do each of them spend watching YT.
Lets say it's 4 members @ 5 hours a month (which I think is very low). That is just a hair over $1/hour of content. Considering what you would pay for a family of 4 to go see a movie in a theater (2-3 hours of content) the cost really isn't high at all.
Yes, it is higher than most streaming services but if YT content is what you prefer then it seems to make sense if you use it any more than my example.

Only to the CEO and upper management of course, in typical corrupt corporate fashion.Whats the. Reason?, is Google raising salaries 20% to everyone?.

Yes, it is a good deal for a family of 4, but if you are just a couple, $22.99 is barely less than two single subscriptions. Is it?

“Nobody cares about your VPN that you don’t even use...”I'd be way more inclined to buy Youtube premium if every single content creator didn't have in video sponsor BS. Nobody cares about your VPN that you use...
you can just sponsorblock them all. together with adblock, I waste 0 seconds on nonsense with youtube contentI'd be way more inclined to buy Youtube premium if every single content creator didn't have in video sponsor BS. Nobody cares about your VPN that you use...
***Sigh***The biggest single plan price increase is in Norway, where prices are up 42 percent.
Watch on a laptop in a browser with an adblocker (eg, firefox) and just airplay the video/audio to the Apple TVI watch YouTube on my Apple TV. Is this possible?
Once they start injecting the ads into the videos themselves, something they are currently trialing, it'll be interesting to see if the ad-blocking community can defeat that.
