"YouTube TV Gets Major Price Hike"
This is why I don't watch content these days. Content creators are full of themselves and not worth my time or money. I have better sources to get content in this land of manic ego ego-driven mentalities.

I joined YouTube TV in the summer of 2018 to watch the World Cup, and at $40 a month, it was a solid and affordable alternative. The convenience of watching content on any device or browser, combined with unlimited DVR, was appealing. However, the mediocre content offerings and constant price increases have made it easy for me to move on.

By canceling YouTube TV and saving $80 a month, I can afford to rotate between a few ad-free streaming services. The $30 Disney/Hulu/Max bundle is far more appealing; especially since many of the shows I used to DVR end up on streaming platforms anyway. BYE ✌️ YouTube TV.

Agree with you, but this is about YouTubeTV (essentially traditional cable TV over internet) not YouTube.

I got rid of YTTV about a year ago. Had Hulu Sling before that. Have not replaced with any other live TV service or cable and frankly, I haven’t missed any of it. I get local news via antenna and subscribe to one or two premium services for far less money and my family is quite happy with what we have.

Dropping Spectrum and switching to Greenlight Fiber and YouTube TV saved so much money.

YouTube TV is a great service with 0 lag (unlike Spectrum) and the unlimited DVR is almost like a second service - I DVR shows I only sometimes watch - after a month you have every episode of shows like Star Trek and Law & Order because they're always being shown on channels like BBC.

Google bought back $70,000,000,000 dollars worth of their own shares this year.

They raise prices in the name of infinite growth, and say it is due to the cost of content. I do not believe them. It is greed. Greed plain and simple, else they would reinvest that $70,000,000,000 back into their products and content.

Unless you have to have sports, consider using the free streaming services like pluto, roku, etc. and supplementing them with streaming services. Only subscribe to a service while a program you are interested in is airing.

Many people can also receive TV over the air with an external antenna. The picture from over the air broadcast is also much better than cable or streaming.

I main watch sports (NFL, college football, college basketball) so while I'll never watch 90% of the channels on YTTV I haven't found a way around it.

But it's not just $83/mo - I need internet to drive it. I'm paying $64.99 for gigabit service (Fios), so the cost for comparison's sake is closer to $150/mo.
Exactly, it like everyone forgets that one needs an internet provider.

They gotta pay all those lazy YouTubers that quit their job to make tons of money producing daily YouTube videos instead of working a real job helping someone.

Lights! Camera! Action!

I subscribe to an HD antenna. Who knew there was better picture quality for free. Sure, you have to tune in at the right time but thats alright.
Same, but in the UK. Freeview also has 4K channels and is as the name says, free. Pair with a network DVR (HDHomeRun) and Plex and you get your own streaming service anywhere.

Then you thinking it looks good on something even bigger than 77” is astounding. So either you’re lying on the internet or ignorant.
I’m using a 65” C4 and 77” C4 and used to use a 115” 4K projector.

YouTubeTV was unwatchable on the projector. IMO the picture quality borders from acceptable to horrible. For ESPN (and many other channels) to be broadcast in 720p in 2024/25 is a joke. And YouTube was proud to bring us 720p enhanced in 2024. Thanks guys 🤣

Not a fan of the 4K up charge, but I pay for that as well for very few channels.

Think you mean HD - there's currently no 4K channels on Freeview or Freesat 👍

Quite a hike. Will not be long before the price is revised to $99 a month. All the streaming services are getting costlier each year. Disappointing.
