My case cracked as well. I received a response from ZUM saying

Sorry for what had happened. We have a feedback about 1% of the product have this problem. We are looking into this issue and fond out the additional thickness of the internal rubberized coating may have caused this problem.

They are also sending out a replacement.

my new one is holding up much better - I think the problem is these case companies just don't have the time in for a long term test so they end uo making a few mistakes, I think taking the cover off right side first and then pulling it away from the cracking areas helps keep it intact...

Yeah they said the new one would be improved.

However the Replacement case has only one layer of internal coating but the old one has 3 layers of internal coating. Outside is the same.

The additional layers of coating had increased the total internal thickness of 0.1mm. It will cause stress crack on the case over extended period of time on some cases.
 
I have two zum cases. One for my wife and the other for myself.. so far they are still perfect. I believe the problem is limited to a small portion and should be fine.. This is still my #1 choice.. Just ordered another one for my colleague.
 
Just order 2 more for my classmates... I have used mine since last fall semester.. still prefect...

Have seen people posted some concerns about the crack case... but to he honest, I would rather to have a cracked case than a CRACKED iPad 2... :D

I still love this zum case ... no substitute :D
 
I have had mine a month tops and after reading the updates noticed a small crack about 5mm long in one of the corners. Hardly noticeable so will keep using it unless it gets worse. BTW I haven't dropped it or hit it at all.
 
Mine has cracks in the two bottom corners (iPad in portrait mode). ZUM kindly offered to replace it for me free of charge. Unfortunately, they are no longer manufacturing this in pink which is what I wanted to match my pink Smart Cover They only have frost and dark smoke available. The reason: ”we are getting ready for iPad 3."

Love this cover, it is a miracle! I will just keep babying it along because the cracks don't affect its functionality.
 
Just wanted to chime in and say that after about a month of use, I don't have any cracks on my Zum (hope this post doesn't jinx things).
 
Mine cracked yesterday. The top left hinge completely cracked off and disappeared. I am contacting ZUM now. I should note that since my purchase late Nov, I have never taken the zum off so this is probably a case of wear and tear?!

mines just cracked too. since i got it in the post at the start of hjanuary ive put it on and left it on, took it off the other day and when i put it back on oticed it was cracked.
for those with problems have you contacted zum directly or the seller? i bought mine from amazon

Contact Zum directly via info@letszum.com and explain the situation. They will ask for a copy of your Amazon order info and will most likely replace it. I have been dealing with Joey and he has been awesome throughout the whole process.

ive done just that thanks! wonder if ill have any problems getting a replacement being based in the uk? if theyre as good as other people have said, im glad i paid the premium for the product even if it has broken. i really appreciate good customer service

My replacement was shipping from the warehouse in Hong Kong so I don't think it will matter that you're not in the US.
 
is my crack the same as what others have reported?

doesnt look too bad there but it means theres not enough rigidity in it for the clip to hold on to the edge of the ipad so its not held on at all on that corner or half of the bottom edge :(
ill update tomorrow if anyone gets back to me
 
Here's my crack. Although I contact ZUM and they are more than happy to replace it!

I've been using it ever since October 2011, but haven't had a crack on it since.
It's one of those moments where you think "I don't know what you guys are complaining about" lol.

have you seen my pic? that crack happened putting it on for the second time.

ive had an email back today, once ive sent them the amazon purchase record they'll send me a new one. fantastic customer service
 
Is the only place to get these via Amazon?
I'm in Canada and was wondering if they have an actual site to order these from. Every search I do takes me to Amazon.

Dear all... I was extremely busy and have no chance to visit this board for last few months..

I am surprise to see so many people like this cover... I am surprise to see so many people like this case. I am still using this case ... and I have no problem.. however, I got 3 new smart covers in the last few months because I just cannot get rib of the stain ...
 
the bottom clip on the smart cover side snapped off on me last night, 2 cracks/breaks in the same area is annoying. the new one theyve sent me will hopefully be better made
 
Count me in: Damaged case

Clips have broken on my case as well. Received the case in January. I sent an email to info@letszum.com on Feb. 8th requesting a replacement and have not heard back from them. Does anyone have additional contact info? How long did it take for someone to return an email?
