According to mmoosa O2 will be announcing the price on the 1st of July so you shouldn't have to wait as long as you think.

I can't see the O2 iPhones being as cheap as the OHMAC ones (£239 for 8gb and £319 for 16gb) but at least there will be no risk of you losing your money if you buy from O2!

Yep, that OHMAC place sounds dodgy! There probably wont be anyone at the that address come the 11th....they'll be off with everyones money!:D

Actually, come to think of it, the last time i upgraded with O2 they did send it to my work, so fingers crossed they'll do the same with the iphone!:)....but this could be a different matter this time around.....

Is it July 1st yet!?
:D:D:D

So does anyone know how existing users can get there hands on an iPhone Pay and Go SIM only, to put in the old iPhone once we get our new ones!!!

?

£300! Better than £370, still too high for a phone, though. I will stick to saving for my DeLorean, thanks!

i wanted a 16gb white but jeez £360 is way to much. i only have £300 but i guess £70 for another 8GB is that much.

£299.99 and £329.99 seems fine considering it includes six months wifi and cellular data.

I was reading the payg page and what comes across is that payg will be sold online but you also pay to start the payg tariff online. You cant buy one on the internet without signing up to one of the payg tariffs and it applies to in store sales....I wonder whether this is the case, I'l be giving O2 a call tomorrow.

It says this on the O2 site

Don't need 2 iPhones!

We want to make sure you find a good home for your existing iPhone once you upgrade. If you've a friend or family member already on an eligible O2 tariff, they'll be able to transfer to one of our new tariffs for iPhone. If they're not already with O2 or on an eligible O2 tariff, they could get one of our new iPhone Pay & Go SIM cards.

I presume you just go into an O2 store and ask for one.

£359 including 6 months of free unlimited data, excellent! :D

It's a great deal considering that the original iPhones were only £30 cheaper even though you also had to pay £35 monthly for 18 months (£630).

I know it sounds that easy but who knows.

Surely people could just buy the old one online and buy a PAYG SIM to use it..... would O2 allow that?

If you buy one from the shop its still a pay as you go phone, they cant make you sign up to anything in-store like they can with contract phones.

Besides, as long as you buy the phone, O2 and Apple have their money.

The prices have gone now!
Do you think it was a mistake putting them up there? or server problems?

so does that mean that the prices were on the o2 website kool £300 for 8 gb and £359 for 16 gb if these prices are real then im defo buyin the iphone:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

They have been taken down by O2. I guess it was a mistake to put them up so early. By it is deffo a good offer with free unlimited data and wifi!

I presume you just go into an O2 store and ask for one.

When the 16 GB iPhone was launched, existing 8GB users used their old sim in the new iPhone when they upgraded. O2 offered a new Sim to allow the old iPhone to be activated on a new account (so you could sell or give away the old iPhone). There was a charge of £10 for the sim (don't know why you couldn't use the sim from the new 16GB iPhone in the old one).

So there may be a nominal charge to get old iPhones onto PayG. New 3G iPhones will come with a sim so no extra cost for them.
