Me???

How many people here lusting after the iPhone SDK are actual developers?

I really wanna know, cause it seems kind of silly to me for lay people to want something that they can't do anything with anyway.

I have 2-3 ideas for simple apps that would make my life easier. I check the dev download site daily.

i have a feeling the SDK will be released on the 28th...
last time i posted somthing like this, i got shot down...
we will just have to wait and see, but thats my hunch.
don't take my work for it, just my 2 pennies worth.
sorry in advance.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

Well this sucks. Not a thing new. Maybe they will announce something in a bit.

Definitely must have had some foundations for the SDK too - as this was a pretty large update for simply bug fixes.

The last updates have been about the same size:

Code:
153M 2007-10-29 10:22 iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw
161M 2007-11-13 13:54 iPhone1,1_1.1.2_3B48b_Restore.ipsw
163M 2008-01-21 18:43 iPhone1,1_1.1.3_4A93_Restore.ipsw
163M 2008-02-26 10:43 iPhone1,1_1.1.4_4A102_Restore.ipsw

I think the files contain the complete iPhone software.

Well the huge file size could mean one of two things
either
1. SDK being released soon or apps or whatever or
2. To fix the few bugs they've had to modify a huge amount of code

Edit:

Well if they're all the same size then...
WTF am i talking about :p

optional upgrade...

With the 1.1.4 update the charging base is now sold as an optional upgrade for $19. :D

I tried view a web page with Flash on my iPhone. Instead of seeing the normal blue plug-in icon, I was prompted to download Flash. When I tried this, I was sent to the page to download the Mac OS X version of Flash. Maybe Flash will come with the SDK?

Well, each update actually overwrites the previous update and that's why it's big.

*sigh* ... when I installed 1.1.3 I did it fresh so when the SDK came out I wouldn't have to restore the phone. However 1.1.4 failed to install and I was forced to put my phone in recovery mode ... it still churning, hopefully it works.

it'd be extremely nice of apple

to inform the user of updates upfront.... just in case... mine confirmed the update with the usual registration message...

or 3. You didn't read the above post and you're making odd speculations.
