You should have done a full restore on your phone. Those aren't issues most iPhone owners have been experiencing. Both my wife and I are running iPhones with 1.1.3 installed and have had no issue.

Learning some basic troubleshooting techniques can take you far. ;)

Fresh restore was the first thing I did ... not a noob here.

I said i *hope* 1.1.4 fixes these issues, but I fear iPhone is not to blame for the problems. Call-related problems may be on AT&T's end (pretty sad for being in metro-LA), and my safari problems could be related to the pages I visit. Engadget is particularly hard on Safari, even on my desktop.

oh looks like i just got a text from apple saying after the update my phone now has the ability to control the weather and i can text message god

I tried view a web page with Flash on my iPhone. Instead of seeing the normal blue plug-in icon, I was prompted to download Flash. When I tried this, I was sent to the page to download the Mac OS X version of Flash. Maybe Flash will come with the SDK?

I just went to my flash page. I still see the blue plug-in icon. I wasn't prompted or anything. :rolleyes:

Install the update and everything seems fine, no noticeable differences like everyone else has said.

I'm assuming this will not delete the January Upgrade I've purchased for my iPod touch?

How many people here lusting after the iPhone SDK are actual developers?

I really wanna know, cause it seems kind of silly to me for lay people to want something that they can't do anything with anyway.:rolleyes:

Well i sure as hell am not a developer!

But the SDK still means something to me. You see, what it means is that once it's released i will be able to get 3rd party apps for my iPod. Now isn't that enough to allow me to lust just a little?

i can see it now, tomorrow morning in the parking lot, look at my iphone and click the starbucks icon. pops up a menu, order my usual, walk up and a tune is playing, i like it so i download on my free at&t wifi at starbucks and my drink a tunes all charged to my itunes account.

that would be cool!

Stupid Apple...always refusing to embrace standards.

XHTML/CSS == Standard
AAC == Standard
H.264 == Standard

All of these have good/very good support on iPhone.

Flash == Adobe Proprietary Technology

It may be a defacto standard, but it's not a standard in the strictest sense of the word. And for Apple it's not good, because they have no control over it.

No. Some websites detect if you have Flash, and redirect you to a Flash download page if you don't have it.

Final bugfixes on the 1.1 development branch.

Expect 1.2 (or whatever it is called, 1.5, 2.0, etc) with the SDK, in about a month.

Far out options include this running on the final iPhone SDK API, and they're releasing this part now to get proper testing in the field. This would be why the third party applications broke.

I've got a 16 GB iPhone LOCKED to AT&T. I jailbroke it and my iPhone has 1.1.3. If I upgrade to 1.1.4 that was just released, will this brick my phone and its applications?

Many thanks in advance.

if you purchased the pack for the touch you should keep it through updates.

really hard to brick an iphone these days, even harder if you are locked to at&t since a DFU restore should take care of any issues. some bricked phones from previous firmwares were unbricked recently with 1.1.3 and independance

Or perhaps do a google search for: iphone dropped calls since 1.1.3

The iPhone by all means has been broken as a phone since the 1.1.3 update. Just because yours works, doesn't mean the rest of us have not been suffering.

Anybody got the direct link to the update on apples site, as i can't do it through iTunes at the moment, as it's synced with my other PC.

Thanks

So, if my iPhone has 1.1.3 and it's been jailbroken, locked to AT&T, and I upgrade to 1.1.4, will I lose the jailbreak and have to rebreak it again using ZPhone? Just want to be sure of this before I go ahead with the upgrade. What about the applications and all of the contents on it (pictures, music, video), will those get erased?

Thanks for the advice.
