Well... that didnt stop us from owning 2/3 of the world!

Perhaps you heard this when you were once young and under 4ft tall in your History class: "Whilst Queen Victoria reigned, the Sun never set on the British Empire..."

and that included, yours Truly The United States Of Afghanistan, I mean America:D

I don't remember Britain ever owning 2/3 of the world... let alone in the mid-1800's. Which is when I was talking about.
So if you're saying that Britain owned 2/3 of the world in the 1800's, including America, I'm afraid you're forgetting a little war that happened in the last third of the 1700's, you know... the one where we kicked you out and declared sovereignty?

More importantly, if you were so great... what happened? Kind of lackluster now aren't you?

"The British Empire was the largest empire in history and, for over a century, was the foremost global power. It was a product of the Age of Discovery, which began with the maritime explorations of the 15th century, that sparked the era of the European colonial empires. By 1921, the British Empire held sway over a population of about 458 million people, approximately one-quarter of the world's population.[1] It covered about 36.7 million km² (14.2 million square miles),[2] about a quarter of Earth's total land area. "

To clear up this argument, the British Empire was a quarter of the earth's total land, so stop arguing about it and get on with talking about Macs and Apple. That's what this forum is for!

If the display screen ratio is 16:9 on the new macs, wouldn't the new screen sizes likely be 14", 16", and maybe 18"?

Seems to be the sizes other notebook manufacturers are building with that aspect ratio.

Air keyboard.

There was one question on the Air keyboard that I wasn't sure of. Is it backlit. The store page says yes.

I'd consider a new MacBook for traveling as the MBP and all the trimmings gets heavy and awkward to travel with at times, although the screen is nice when flying to watch movies on... There are trade offs with everything...

Probably no new monitors like were hoped and wished for the last update.

I wonder about updates to Final Cut zzzand other Apple apps too...

Tuesday should be interesting anyway... YEA HA!

That was my point. 1/4 < 2/3. On to the mac. Looking forward to new mbp or possibly an updated air. Air would satisfy my coding needs, and getting tired of lugging around a 6 lb behemoth when I really only wanted the ram and proc power. Now that I don't play games anymore on my laptop, I see no need for the full GPU.

I just wanted to ask:

Is the 13.3'' display big enough for my everyday work as a student? I'm really considering a 15.4'' Macbook Pro...

What should I do?

Who here will miss plastic?

I do not care either way but would like to see what people say.

I for one will miss the plastic. My macbook takes a lickin and keeps on ticken. The plastic is more forgiving then metal and i think the white hides the scratches better. I would hate for this thing to be metal. It would look like a rednecks 85 ford pickup after a night with the boys!!!

I say bring back the Titanium PowerBook. The white and metal looked so swish! a Titanium MacBook would be awesome!

If you're not doing any major photo/video editing as your major, standard macbook is plenty for doing email, reports , whatever. Depends on how much you want to multitask and have on screen.

does anyone else agree that the new keyboard with the black and the silver is the WORST DESIGN EVER ??!?!?!?!?!:mad::eek::confused::apple::apple:

Negatory! I think that iliminated characters look better when the keys are black. It gives better contrast.

Well, it's good to see the spot light returning to the Mac, for a while at least. :)

Lets talks specs.

Lets assume this $899/$999 MacBook is real. I think Apple could put integrated graphics into it and use dedicated graphics chips with the higher priced models.

BlackBook?

There better be a black version!! :)
(+ backlit keyboard , + memory card reader :p )
