so...

hey, i'm new (i've owned a powerbook g4, ibookg4, and the first intel imac).. this will be the first apple laptop i actually purchase with my own cash (been waiting for..ever)

I was wondering how this all occurs... The event is tuesday, when should it be able to purchase? I presume tuesday, but i just want to make sure. AND it would ship that day? AND/OR could one just buy it from an apple store?

Thanks!

"Travelers from Europe and even Canada and Mexico are booking flights that avoid landing in America for any reason"

That's the best news I've heard all day.

Remember, most of America's early population is from England, France, Spain, Netherlands (Dutch), Mexico. Oh, most people I know hate Neocon Faux News and aren't fat at all. You watch to much TV and believe in too many stereotypes.

What the hell kind of thread am I in?

It's anyone's guess when it will be available. Sometimes Apple announces and makes available the same day, sometimes Apple announces one day and makes available several weeks later.

Sweet! When did I become a regular?

for those asking "when will I receive my order if I order...." questions, I think you guys should just wait until the official announcement because no one outside of apple is going to know the answer to your question. Yesterday, we were all about the lose hope because we didn't see any invitations sent out, so just enjoy the moment everyone. The fact is THEY ARE DEFINITELY COMING. Next Tuesday will answer all your questions.

Aluminum makes a lot of sense, I always wanted a macbook that has characteristics of the pro like horrible wifi reception. Please God let there be something else to this rumor.

Actually...

Actually, a majority Americans are at least partially of German descent, and Germans were a large percentage of white colonial population.

I'm puzzled why you'd want one.

Excluding the case for aesthetics (although I think the mockups of these aluminium machines are nicer) the new MacBooks will

[1] Potentially be better specced (integrated graphics, processor etc.)
[2] Potentially have a multi-touch trackpad
[3] Potentially have LED Screens
[4] Potentially cost less money

Seems a very good reason to wait. Then if you are still not impressed I'm sure on the day of the announcement you would be able to find a White MacBook somewhere if you really wanted one.

Are you out of your mind?? the best time to buy is obviously before an event when specs get bumped or prices drop. I am all over a white book now.

Lol, I love these kinds of posts on a RUMORS site.

I have been a member of this site since 2003. Back then (in the bad old days), a rumor of this proportion would cause havoc among the readers of this site. Days and days of speculation about the color of the background, the shade of white of the apple logo, the fact that this doesn't necessarily mean a laptop but maybe something EVEN cooler!!

Its a different world and a different MacRumors. Not bad or good either way. Just different. Now you kids get OFF my lawn!!

watch a 1080p movie on a 768p screen lol @ you

That "768 pixel" screen can support 720p material last time I checked. And unless you haven't had your eyes checked recently, 720p material looks nicer than 480p/i content.

The only update I am hoping for is PRICE BREAK. PLEASE PLEASE come out with a 15 INCH laptop that has a remotely reasonable price.

I need some real-estate and I am not paying $2 GRAND to get.

They could keep the line up the same and drop prices by 30-40% and i would be happy!

Ahh, 5 days is so far away. And which one to get too! :( I can see a 4am awakening on Wednesday and being in a tossup of whether to get a MB or MBP

this is also going to be me, i've got the cash for either as i've been saving since december... most likely even the superlarge super deluxe MBP model. i just didn't buy because my car died and i couldn't afford both a car and a notebook at the time.

can't wait... glad this magic carpet ride is coming to an end.

I've been here for a while (not as long as you) and back in the day you would see recurrent posters again and again...now the community is so large I often have never seen the posters above and below me!

Anyways, a Mac tablet would be soooo cool!

Let's look into our crystal ball, yes by the amount of pixels that I'm estimating on the picture it has to be 13". The width divided by 72dpi x .... How can these people tell what the hell size laptop this is.

Actually, a "768 pixel" screen wouldn't be able to do either. 32x24 pixels isn't big enough for a full size OS X icon, much less a movie.

Now, 1024x768 is an entirely different matter. ;)

I'm curious, what do people think about Apple producing a 12" option as far as MBP's are concerned? I would love it if it was 12" with all it has now w/the works.

I doubt that they will make it that small. I am hopefully we will see a 13" MacBook Pro. That will be a must have for me.

A mac tablet would be incredible. A little bigger width-wise and length-wise than the iphone (for the most part equally proportionate on all sides), the processing speed and memory to do heavy computing, mini usb ports etc... Let's go Apple.

So current macbook size, that's cool enough for me . . I enjoy the compactness of the MB but the power of the MBP. I guess we'll c, can't wait.

I know Apple will never go back to 12" but they can narrow the 13.3" a tad.
