DVD Player Help said:New video encoding technology enables high-definition digital video to be burned on high-density DVD discs (called "HD DVDs") for better picture and sound quality.
janstett said:Not really answered, it's more of a mystery now than ever. ??? If Apple is in the BluRay camp what the heck are they doing talking about HD-DVD in the DVD Player? And BTW I still don't know how to turn on SPDIF.
However, due to the wording in the online help, I'm starting to think this may be that "HD-DVDs" are only supported coming out of iMovieHD with the source being an HD camcorder. But the wording is confusing...
See the attached screenshots.
BTW, going to help->Show Supported Features on DVD player is interesting. On my Mini, HD is not enabled and that's the ONLY mention of HD, the tab is missing from prefs and the online help doesn't mention it. On my MacBook, it is enabled. Same version of DVD player, both are 10.4.5.
ncoffey said:I know I won't, but I live up in Canada so it has to go to Anchorage, down to the main FedEx facility, back through customs into Canada, and all the way out to Newfoundland. I don't expect it until probably mid next week.
I won't, because there are other people reporting theirs ship on this forum now, as well as the main apple forums. We can't all be lying, right?![]()

The new 2.0 product was shown under "Not yet shipped". Now my order has shipped but the "Replaced with new product" section now shows a 2.0 as well as a 1.83, and another 2.0 under shipped. The specs are listed as the same, was there some other change. See the attached screen shot.
Did Apple update the MacBook Pro again????

-> iLife 06 applications take up a lot of disk space - and iWeb is the worst offender. In fact, iWeb consumes more disk space that Adobe InDesign and Photoshop put together. Most of this bloat is made up of foreign language resources, which can be deleted. With the iWeb application highlighted in the Finder, choose File>Get Info. Click the Languages arrow near the bottom of the Get Info palette. Select a langauge you do not need and click the Remove button. Repeat for all unwanted applications [I think they mean langauges]. The same trick can be used in other iLife applications, but you should always back up your data before you sping clean! <-
Aren't I nice typing all that out for you...![]()
