I've waited this long for Apple to make another laptop with a decent keyboard, I can wait a while longer for scissor switch keyboards to percolate down into a machine under $1500.

Oh my! I don’t understand the need to replace your macs so soon!, I have an MacBook Pro 2012 with upgraded ram to 16 gb, runs photoshop, after effects and iMovie just fine!

am I missing something m?

My 2015 retina MBP is running nicely too. Only reason I'd replace is that it's a bit heavy and I would love to have TouchID, but other than that I like it a lot.

Hoping that the scissors mech keyboard makes it (soon) to a 13” MBP.

I think it will next year, the 16in Macbook pro is a good test bed for the keyboard. And see how customers like it and how it performs over 6 months. Plus they you do not want to replace all keyboards on all models at one time you would need a lot of keyboards. This give Apple some time to assess how the new keyboard on a lower volume system. Before you go into full keyboard production.

I will again say this...

I owned the 2017 and 2018 MBP models. Had malfunctioning keys on both machines.

I now own the 2019 13" MBP and the keyboard is so much better.

I am not advocating butterfly keyboards as I would rather have a scissor, but Apple made great strides with this year's keyboard. I would not be devastated if we got it on the upcoming 16" model. Disappointed, yes. Devasted, no.

Yeah I don't understand this either. I think the 15-inch is going away.
Many have long expected the 13/15” to be replaced by 14/16” displays... smaller bezels in roughly the same footprint.

I really don’t see the point in keeping both the 15 and 16”, unless the minimum 16” config is something like 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, high-end GPU, etc. and starts at $4k or something like that.

I hope it’s released this week, but is there a possibility that the press briefings are for the iMac Pro? Isn’t it supposed to be launching? Would make sense to hold a press briefing for that launch.

My biggest worry is it will be using nearly 1 year old components. We are not likely going to see updated Intel chips. We could see navi, which was needed. It is just really weird timing for Apple. We are just a few months away from a refreshed lineup. Even if we don't see a design change it will at least be using updated internals. If it is actually in production they can't sit on it long because they are already using old components that will be updated shortly. I just doubt seeing a Macbook Pro launch late November/December when all of the component manufacturers are later in their product cycle.
Didn’t stop Apple from selling the same 2014 Mac mini, for 4 years in a row, AT FULL PRICE.

Nothing shocks me anymore.

Yes, it's a very good possibility that this is just for the Mac Pro.

However, there are too many rumors out there from different sources that it's likely there will be a 16" MBP unveiling as well.

Do we know the actual size of the 16" model?

13.3" and 15.4" are what Apple lists as the actual sizes of the existing MBP models.

Why just stop at 16"? How about bezel free 18"?
Where's Verne Troyer and Yao Ming when you need them?

Based on the leaked render and icon the MacBook Pro 16" will look like this. Rather than this poorly photoshoped picture in the article.

This reminds me of those people who say "I'm walking out the door... 10 minutes away... almost there" then you find out they haven't left yet.

But who's trolling? Did Apple announce or confirm this product?
Speculators are trolling with new rumors every week with no hard dates. Apple has no plans to announce a brand new high end product. It’s just one big bait and switch.

Alright!
Here we go with a new day...a new week...
A new rumor mill to get us going!

Will Tim find happiness in that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow?

Will Phill find his courage or lose his resolve?

When will Angela exact her revenge? Can Deirdre stop her once and for all?

Will Jony find happiness on his own or simply give up and open that all night doughnut shop after all?

Will Craig finally find that ever elusive hairdresser of his dreams?

Has MacRumors finally beaten this horse to death?

Tune in tomorrow, when all, some or none of these questions will be answered on ”The Last Days Of Our Hope In Aloominyum”.

Can't wait to find out if the Touchbar gets the axe..

Several Chinese tech bloggers who have always been invited to Apple's Keynote events are suddenly travelling to NYC today. Could this be for the private press briefing of the 16-inch MacBook Pro?

I won't lie..this is something I do want yet have no need for like the AirPods Pro. In the end I'll take whatever baby Mac are available when the MBA dies and some normal AirPods.

13.3" and 15.4" are what Apple lists as the actual sizes of the existing MBP models.

That is a good point. Reduce the bezels on either enough to add 1/2" to the screen and you are 13.8" and 15.9". Round up and bam, 14" and 16" MBPs!
