So the same processor as the current 15 inch MacBook Pro. But that extra inch raises the price to $3000.
0.6” even. Which to me and implies a higher base config than the 15.4” model. Very few will want to pay a $600 premium just for a slightly (barely) larger screen. There’s nothing in the article that says the 16” has the same processor as the $2,399 15.4” model.

Too bad for no 45w icelake since it supports LPDDR4 so better battery life and also almost 50% boost in iGPU...

All I can say is if this thing is going to start at $3000, it would be a shame if it was the same starting configuration as the current 15” model.

based on image macOS scaling and this suppose resolution it will not be 16" but around 16.3"

16" model would be all-new. Top-of-line addition. 15" model will presumably live on. So, I view it a bit differently.
There have also been some reports (not sure of reliability?) that the 15" will be getting the chop as soon as the 16" releases:

I wonder if it'll be an event or if they will announce it by just updating the website.
Usually if it's a significant redesign new features will be walked-through at an event.

Not the H series (45W) ones used in the larger Pros, they've announced U series (15W) which potentially could have been used in the just-refreshed 13" - though they would have had to leave it without an update for yet another few months.

I'd take it in 16" base config, the 28w is faster than my 2011 15" and that is plenty fast for my uses.

The key point besides price is functionality. Will it have the necessary ports, i.e., SD card, USB-A, or continue this stupid thinness craze. We want FUNCTIONALITY and not having to look for adapters. A couple of millimeters isn't a deal breaker. LACK OF FUNCTIONALITY IS!

It's really strange that they write "this would mean that Apple isn't yet ready to use Intel's latest 10th-generation Ice Lake processors" when it's Intel's H-series processors that aren't ready yet for Apple!

I doubt the 15" goes away. Ming-Chi Kuo expects a new 15" with scissor keyboard in 2020. Alongside the 16".

16" likely starts off as highest-priced, top-of-line config and eventually slides down, but it will take time.

This is what they did with the first Retina display model in 2012.
