If this doesn’t have a refresh rate of 144hz it is trash computer. I’m a speed runner so I am a true professional and so far this doesn’t sound professional
What would make it more professional? Genuinely curious.
I'm not a "professional" in the sense that my computing needs could easily be accomplished with a MBAir but I opt for the higher end 15" Pro and iMac Pro for aesthetics.

Also faceID is coming to the mac..probably starting with this 16" MBP
faceID will have 2 main functions
1) First, it would avoid timing-out into sleep mode when there’s someone in front of the machine.
2) Second ,the Mac can automatically wake and log you in, even if it is in sleep mode when you approach it.

I'd take it in 16" base config, the 28w is faster than my 2011 15" and that is plenty fast for my uses.
I've been hoping for a while they might come out with a 15" MacBook or Air, the U series chips have become pretty competent since going quad-core, with IceLake, the iGPU should be up to handling the larger screen without needing to kick in a dGPU as well. I don't think they'd go for it in the Pro line though, because they like to be able to say the 15" can drive two 5K displays at once.

Makes no sense to have a 15" and a 16". There is not enough difference between the two. Since they will be using the same processors as the 15", this new form factor cannot offer a significantly better experience. My bet is still that the 16" will replace the 15". It's too close in performance and features not to.

I doubt the 15" goes away. Ming-Chi Kuo expects a new 15" with scissor keyboard in 2020. Alongside the 16".

16" likely starts off as highest-priced, top-of-line config and eventually slides down, but it will take time.

This is what they did with the first Retina display model in 2012.
A MacBook Pro Pro, in addition to the recent 13” MacBook Semi Pro ;)

"All of the chips are 45W with integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630".

Not interested in this Fischer Price hardware. It's an insult that "Pro" and "integrated intel graphics" get used int he same sentence.

15" will be standard with TouchBar. 16" will have TB and Face ID, maybe?

So what's this thing gonna have then? Tiny bit (0.6") bigger screen? And?
FaceID?

To add to the comment about an event, I think they may release it in September along with the iPhone. While they have had Mac-only events before (as in 2016), that time there was a new feature, the TouchBar, which occupied much of the event's time. Unless there's a new feature like that I don't see them having a separate event just for this one computer.

And an optional touchbar (aka no touchbar). And a scissor keyboard. And MagSafe. And HDMI. And SD Card reader. And a better trackpad with Pencil support. And a better battery. And no throttling. And a matte screen.

Good golly, there's quite a bit I'd pay extra for.
Loved my 15" Pro with matte screen but hated the silver bezel.
