If there is a brand new redesign for the Macbook Pro, Consider me a buyer although I imagine the redesign will come in other sizes other than 16 inch.
Excluding the MagSafe, useless SD card slot, useless USB-Antique ports, unnecesssry HDMI and you’ve got a point.
As people purchase USB-C accessories instead you’ll see the lack of need for 60 different USB or HDMI dongles or whatever.

It's been over two years. How far along has the general market gone in terms of that happening? Is price parity the same?As people purchase USB-C accessories instead you’ll see the lack of need for 60 different USB or HDMI dongles or whatever.
TouchBar, Keyboard, Too Large TrackPad that causes false positives, Hinge, All these are design flaws. May be instead of fixing one and every one of them they decided to scrap the whole thing and remake it.
One thing I *hope* the 16.5" MBP is signalling the new product line up.
MacBook Pro will start with 14.5" to 16.5"
MacBook Air will start with 13.3" and 15"
MacBook at 12" - Ultimate portability.
The only problem is the naming of MacBook is bit of a mess. And let's hope they have new MBP Thermals design in mind. The new MacBook Air is capped at 10W which irritate me a lot.
c'mon, why stop there? Also needs ethernet, VGA and 25pin SCSI ports.
Isn't the MacBook due to be axed?
What joke are you attempting to make?Macbook - Apple's proprietary name for all of its laptops!![]()
Still too soon. I assume that both 13 and 15 inches wont gonna be available with a new design till 2020 but 16 or 16.5.
Yeah they need to clean their line up because
1. MacBook Pro 13 inches is not a pro grade at all due to lack of GPU and 32gb ram.
2. MacBook and MacBook Air are quite similar. I have no idea why they did this.
I think this is the most likely. 13/15 going to 14/16 with smaller bezels has seemed inevitable since the 2016 model debuted with the relatively large bezels.Yep, I would like to see 2 x pro laptops
14" & 16.5" - both with decent GPU and 32gb.
I was in the Apple store on the weekend and was thinking a 14" would be perfect for me, as the 13 is a bit too small and the 15 too big. Hopefully see these in June and await the rumours building up.

How would they lose profits? If they spent $200M redesigning it, do you not think they regained that lost money and then some back? They don't stand to lose profits because they refresh one year earlier. The cost of retooling isn't on Apple. No way this is going to happen. Apple spent millions to develop the current Macbook Pro - for them to abandon it after barely 2.5 year run (late 2016-mid 2019) is to lose tons of profit. They'll never go for it. The 32GB option on current 13in machines is feasible though. Hope it happens.

$3949 with the education discount.
Maybe dreams still come true...........we'll see.....It can start at $4000 for all that matters; it should have MagSafe, SD-card slot, 2 USB type A housing for the USB-C ports, two regular full featured USB-C ports, HDMI and an audio-jack.
And, no bloody Touch Bar!
Nvm, it's been 4 years since 2016 version released so this year is the year for all new MacBook Pro. Apple release a new MacBook Pro every 4 years so it is exciting.
Yep, you should try sitting in a remote office, working 10+ hours per day, 5+ days per week, on only your 13 inch laptop, because the client does not provide computers or displays to contractors. Remember that you are doing large graphic work (think multiple 4 ft by 6ft printed presentations) accompanied by large scale numerical analysis.
It does not matter what the computer costs, it only matters that it has ports for use in an office (VGA for the old projectors, HDMI for the new projectors, ethernet (because client public WiFi typically sucks), USB), mag-safe (because there might be 4 to 6 people at one fold up table), large screen, and lots of memory (more than 16G).

3 yrs. you’re counting 2016 as a first full year when it’s not: starting point is 0 not 1.
2016
2017
2018
2019 we’re in yet no new MBP released this 3yrs.
FaceID makes the most sense in a laptop or desktop ~ I would be shocked if this wasn’t part of a refresh for either
