DIFFERENCES

Apps take FOREVER to update / install still.

When you update an app, it still has the same "issue" where it moves it to the front page and doesn't move to where it was at.

When you download iPhone apps on the phone and transfer them when you plug it into the computer, it seems to be quicker.

Backup when adding 2 new apps took about 3 minutes. It pauses for a bit, but then the bar jumps while updating.

All around phone is quicker, INCLUDING typing in SMS, Safari, ETC.

When you rotate the phone it rotates quicker now.

There is nothing to fix with the way it makes backups. This is intentional since it backsup the whole iPhone, apps and all.

Sure it is. Differential backups just like plenty of other back up methods.

They will fix or change the way they back up. Period. 1.5 hrs is just too long for a back up that occurs during every sync after new apps have been uploaded.

This should take seconds or minutes. Not over an hour.

Edit: thanks nick!

will this make Netshare inactive have people still got it to work???

i am scared to to do the software update!

From what I've gathered, those with pwned phones can simply do an update. However, Cydia and the Jailbroken Apps wont work. But the phone will. Again, this is just what I have read, not actually done.

The signal NOW IS WORSE FOR ME.

West of Chicago, IL. I went from 1-3 bars of 3G to NO SERVICE.

EDGE is still 5 bars.

While typing this post, i went from no bars to no service to no bars again.

What planet are you on, here's four things that need fixing with the backup;

1. Over 2 hours to backup 400mb of data
2. Stopping an in progress backup leaves you with no usable backup
3. Only 1 backup is kept
4. The backup is excluded from Time Machine

Signal improved dramatically. 3G sucked near me, and now have full 5 bars. Everything else seems to be great so far.

Does anyone have a direct link to the firmware. My iTunes is still saying 2.0 is the latest (I am in the UK - perhaps they geographically stagger release?).

Almost done ive been waiting like 5 min, but yeah thats normally how long it takes 2 back up

Same here! 3G to NO SERVICE for a minute!

I've never experienced this before.

San Francisco..

Wow

As everyone is saying it is definatly snappier, just ran the WIFI d/l speed test it went from 2600 to 3390 KBPS! EXCELLENT!

All menu's are quicker and the lag seems to be completely gone typing messages. Backup is even faster now (never had that long update as reported) Very Very nice update!

Questions that need to be answered:

A - Any change on battery life - This is a huge question to be answered

While I agree this is annoying, you do realize you can drag the app that is installing to where you want it to be once it's done, right? I too would like it to update in place of the original app, but at least I can organize while it's updating.

Lucky for the 3G crowd! Anybody notice and improvement in the EDGE reception? Mine's trash where it used to be decent...
