It seems that after the update my iphone (3g) no longer responds to an apple remote when in a universal dock - it worked fine before the update.

not updating i am having NO problems and my iphone is jailbroken i dont wanna lose all my ***** over some stupid update. thats "snappier" at first then within a week its back to normal .. thats what happens .. every update people say wow its snappier its soo good then 10 days later they are complaining about it crashing .. so yeah no update for me no big deal.. no copy paste ..or any major update

hunh, i had to "unpair" the remote from the dock for it to work, and it wasn't even paired before!

One of these days Apple will give us Copy/Paste and MMS in a single update (2.3? 3.0?) and then the forums will be quiet lol... that is, except for the few that continue to make a big deal about Flash.

Every time Apple finally fills a long-awaited demand, us MR members find something else to whine about. We won't be happy until we see Apple's entire roadmap.

So an iPhone 2G, the update will break the jailbreak but not the unlock.

Thanks, I'll just wait. Safari works fine as-is for now. :)

Hmmm. If you think about it, each update makes the iPhone snappier then before because th phone gets rebooted. ;)

The update failed and I had to restore the phone, great...

And now I get an error while restoring, f**k

Maybe an odd question but this has to do with sms.

Prior to 2.2.0 you could have it so that if you receive a sms message it would just say:

"New Text Received"

Without saying from who, or the first few lines of the text.

2.2.0 changed that so that it would at least say the name of the sender. Anyone who downloaded 2.2.1 know if they reversed it?

I want to maintain the option to unlock, but if they reversed it i'll go ahead and update.

Thanks!

Here is the iPod firmware features, so apparently it also has Lossless codec improvements

How can I go from 2.2.1 back to 2.2? Is there not a way yet?

Is there no way YET? It was just released man. A month after 2.2.0 was released there was still no way to downgrade.

Edit: Actually, I don't think there still is a way.

The only change I have noticed so far is the Gmail icon now says Google Mail with beta next to it - when you add an email account. Was this not beta before and now is?

Haven't found NetShare in the Apps Store - where to download?! Only on jailbroken fones?

NetShare was available on the App Store for a very short period of time. Apple pulled it and it's no longer available.

Only people who downloaded it still have it.

Yep, am aware of that ... that's the only problem left with the phone, can't use it as a modem on the road.

Hmm ... need some workaround ...

Bluetooth Handsfree Link works on my car!

The one thing I can say for sure, 2.2.1 fixed the Bluetooth Handsfree Link on my Honda Civic 2009 w/Navi. With 2.2, it was unusable. So bad the other person could barely (if at all) hear me. With this, I made several phone calls, and it actually works loud and clear like it was always supposed to.

I'll be testing it on a 2009 BMW tomorrow, hopefully it's resolved on there as well.
