Here is the iPod firmware features, so apparently it also has Lossless codec improvements

Sweet! That's because the 32GB iPod touch was having issues with songs encoded in Apple Lossless.

LOL @ this update. Really? Safari stability improvement? No useful features? I really hope someone challenges the iPhone soon so they will start adding things that actually make it worth updating.

and can we get some notes syncing?
wtf?

ITS BEEN A YEAR AND A HALF!

I love Apple for their innovation but not their stupidity to insist the iPhone is the best smartphone when it can't even do the simplest thing a normal dumb phone could do.

Its a .1 update, .1 updates are only bug fixes, dont be expecting Push/cut and paste/MMS and everything in an .1 update. Jesus all you guys do is just bitch about updates.

Man no push notifications. Apple screwed me! When I bought by iPhone the option to have Im running in the background was taken into concideration by me.
Now month after I bought it there is still no background notification service.
I mean it's not that I don't like the phone without it, but Apple should at least inform us when to expect it.

You fail to remember 1.1.3 then. This update is just meant to break YellowSn0w. Safari fixes? Lol, yeah right.

What ever happened to Push Notification services for all apps? Howcome no one has brought this issue to light?

Oh, wait, it's obvious now! Jobs meant September '09!

This update was useless IMHO. First off it didn't fix the low res bug in photos that were saved through safari. Secondly they must have changed something that killed the compatibility of some apps because accuweather, crazy tanks, and imob all look like they're about to start but then crash back to the home screen. Great so we get no worthwhile improvements but now we've got to wait for all of these apps to be updated.

Exactly. Do you think they actually needed 3 months to fix the blurry picture via email bug? Or, 3 months to make Safari more stable? No and No.

The only reason Apple put this out was due to Yellowsn0w. It really pisses me off that the blurry picture via email bug had to come piggybacked onto a more self-serving "fix" for Apple. As always, paying customers come second. If Yellowsn0w didn't exist, we probably would still have been waiting for the blurry picture bug fix. Where's the middle finger emoticon when I need it.

Can you post a link of an image that comes out blurry for you because I just saved an image from Safari that was 320x480 and it was normal.

What SMS Window Colors?

Someone who has it: check the SMS windows, see if the colors have changed....anything?

What's the issue at hand here? What elements need new colors, and why would you prefer one color "Send" button over another, for instance. Or, are we asking for customizations options in the settings perhaps?

It seems I jumped into the middle of a discussion and I'm a little lost.

I think it was originally intended to be a joke.

I think it was originally intended to be a joke.

I originally made a joke in the other thread about the 2.2.1 leaks that the send button in SMS was going to be green. Either people took it seriously and actually thought the color was supposed to change, or they're using my joke like the "Safari is Snappier" or the "But, where's the new MacBooks" jokes.

Hurray!!! It says the Apple Losssless issue has been fixed, so I'm downloading now to find out. :)

The saved mail photo glitch was also rather annoying. I'm assuming that it also fixes the same issue found in Safari.

Anyways, I've been waiting for this dam fix and it's about time. I honestly hadn't expected my music to skip this late in the game on an iPod.

Images Still Blurry

After installing 2.2.1, images saved both through Mail and through Safari are still blurry if they are large files. Small images seem to work just fine. I emailed myself a 1.5MB and a 4.5MB photo and each turned out blurry. An 80kb image turned out fine, as did several 400x600 images from Safari.

Has anyone else noticed that the image size seems to determine whether the image is saved properly?

I've attached screen captures of an 80kb version of a photo and the 2.8MB version. The 2.8MB version ends up blurry when saved to the camera roll and viewed on the iPhone. The actual images saved are fine if imported onto my Mac, but show up blurry on the iPhone. See the examples I've attached.

Again, the actual images saved are fine, but not when viewed on the iPhone. These are the screen captures from the iPhone screen, not the originals.
