Whiners!

To the people complaining about an incremental update, please just stop whining.

After spending 2+ years with a Palm Treo 680 and only getting 2 (I think) software updates (the last of which actually made the phone more unstable) I think Apple is doing a fine job.
 
with all respect to Apple... it's just a cat&mouse game betveen :apple: and dev-team... sad, really sad. we paid like 850-1200$ per iphone 3G here in Ukraine, got em locked, no maps, no appstore, no any bloody thing. and apple won't even let us live in peace with yellowsn0w... shame. shame on you, steve...

Your post makes no sense. It's not Apple's fault that You payed a ridiculous amount for an iPhone. Apple made an agreement with AT&T so that AT&T would get exclusivity on the iPhone. Apple may not "Let you live in peace with Yellowsn0w", but you can still unlock it fine.
 
Updating now

I am currently updating my iPhone 3G.
Bought on the launch day here in Denmark, and unlocked through official channels a few days ago, and now running on a good 3G network (looks like Apple made the worst 3G networks sole reseller in most countries).
 
firmware after this update on 1st gen iphone

Could anyone report modem firmware after this update on 1st gen iphone?

One of these days Apple will give us Copy/Paste and MMS in a single update (2.3? 3.0?) and then the forums will be quiet lol... that is, except for the few that continue to make a big deal about Flash.
 
Update went fine, altogether about 20 minutes. Started some heavy apps like Noise.io, BeatMaker, SimCity, iStat, SlotZ Racer and played a while around - all okay. Everything seems snappier of course, really.
 
how about an update to allow us to add new ringtones to the texting feature. Id like to be able to change to newer sounds for the new text message feature. Im sick of the same ones. and this is an update? not too much to it eh?
 
If Apple gave us everything... what would we talk about? What would we be waiting for? I think Apple not including stuff keeps us in suspense... like on TV shows, where each week, they make you think Gilligan might get off the island.... or finally tell you where Fez is from.
 
NetShare? Anyone?

I am getting ready to update and would like to know ahead of time. I can't imagine they broke this as it was a valid app on the app store. If they did, they are probably getting ready for the offical AT&T app here in the states. Either way, I will update as I save pictures from email often.

Anything that is X.X.X such as this 2.2.1 is not really an update and I think should actually be called a bug fix instead since they never really add new features. Likely the next with "new features" will be either 2.3 or 3.0, depending on what Apple wants to call it.

we've got one account of it not working so far.

Is Apple required to refund those who bought Netshare if THEY keep it from working after offering it to iPhone users through the app store?

LOL, I kinda feel the same way, like someone saying "first" when he/she is the first to respond to a thread hahaha.
 
Well I just updated and netshare is working perfectly for me. It did take a few more seconds to share the signal but its working fine. I didn't even think to check before updating. I guess I was so excited to see an update after all that time. lol:D
