Check this out...Is that better than the memory we ordered from Outpost.com?
I think Kingston is a better brand name. Except I've heard
some bad things about their 'valueram', this doesn't appear
to be part of that line.
Wow, in addition to paying $40 in shipping now I have to pay them another $18.43 Cash On Delivery

I've already paid $38.23 for S&H. Why am I paying another $18.23 in shipping costs tomorrow?
You're in Canada, right? The extra amount is for GST plus brokerage fees. Actually a relatively good deal - if it was with Purolator, you probably would have paid about $50.Wow, in addition to paying $40 in shipping now I have to pay them another $18.43 Cash On Delivery

Well the DHL guy came again today and you were right. The $18 was a tax
Anyway, I still don't understand why they only provide one shipping option to Canada. I would've preferred saving $20 or so dollars for it to come next week or so than to pay $40 for it to come 20 hours after I order
I had the choice of standard or express, don't know why you didn't. My RAM came today, BTW, by standard shipping (most impressed, arrived 3 days after ordering, including getting through customs, when Fry's had them listed as back-ordered). All 4 modules work like a charm!Well the DHL guy came again today and you were right. The $18 was a tax

On a side note, I only paid GST plus $7 brokerage fee COD (total $16.86 for 4 modules). Looks like your express delivery increased the brokerage fee, too.
I think I'll try to stick with DHL for international deliveries from now on. Fast, relatively inexpensive and with very modest brokerage fees. Not at all like Purolator.
All in all, I'm very happy, four 2GB modules delivered to Canada for less than $200, including all taxes and fees!

If you're uncomfortable with buying generic RAM, NewEgg has Corsair 2 GB DIMMS for $49.99 after rebate, with free shipping. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145172
They have the Transcend stuff for $42.99 after rebate too.
Don't get me wrong - it's a great deal, I'm just partial to Crucial myself.

Gotta love 'em.
a MacGuide from MacRumors (Understanding Intel Mac RAM) says "3.3 GB" http://guides.macrumors.com/Understanding_Intel_Mac_RAM but the official Apple specs for my iMac (2.16 GHz 20" late-2006 "white") says it "supports up to 3GB" http://support.apple.com/specs/imac/iMac_Late_2006.html so which is correct? (or did Apple just "round off" since 3.3, to the nearest whole number, is 3) I assume the 3.3 is correct, but why would Apple be sloppy and under-rate their own computer?on the new santa rosa macbooks you can run 4gb and on the old ones you can run 3.3GB
Uh, I just discovered that Apple REALLY under-rated my old G3 Powerbook "Firewire Pismo" which (according to an Apple Forum and MacTracker) can run two 512's for a max of 1024 MB, even though Apple claims it's limited to two 256's and 512 max. Wow. I assume Apple knows their official specs are wrong, so why don't they update the specs to give users accurate information?why would Apple be sloppy and under-rate their own computer?
Looks like the same but mine said Jetram on the package.......leo loves having 4G.....Does the $47.99 Transcend RAM posted on Newegg's website,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208341 fit in the new SR MacBooks?
mine has been shipped...just DHL is having issues. They spelled my address wrong..and now they delivered it to the wrong location claiming that it was sent to my address.
