2007 was the year i...
-found out about myself without the pressure. i started very confused about my future career and who i was and what i wanted out of life. partly thanks to the many people at macrumors, i've found out about myself and solved most of the unresolved issues i had after graduating college last december. i feel satisfied now instead of full of regret.
-saw my friends graduate college (good and bad in several ways)
-felt more disconnected with older friends
-saw my old hometown go up in smoke
-lost my last grandparent (but ironically my great grandma is still living)
-still had no job (curse the middle of nowhere and cars)
-discovered that the school system talks from both sides of their mouth (they claim to need science teachers, but didn't even contact me back for a job as one)
-migrated most of my work from my pc to my macbook, 'chipper' (it's probably going to take on all my computer work soon since my pc has been crashing)
-found out that my family is more important than making tons of cash and such.
-found that your college major doesn't determine your life or career. follow your heart, not your degree.
-divorced science (in a career sense)
-felt mature for the first time (i'm 22), forming my own ethos, worldviews and goals separate from my parents and other adults.
-revved up on my social commentary on my own accord
-said goodbye to braves on tbs
-went organic (food), about 85% of our food is organic now
it's been a bit of a disappointing (and some ways sad) year based on how last year ended with my graduation from college. 2006 was great, 2007, not so much. but it was a year of 'live and learn' (i suggest you search for the song by crush 40) for me. hopefully 2008 will mark the start of some real progress now knowing what i want from life and what i'm after.
