Sounds a lot like my year! No iPod Touch though, iPhone instead. You will LOVE your Les Paul. I and the only player of a 1968 Les Paul Studio model I bought new in 1972 from a music store that was going out of business. Paid $275 USD for it, have it insured for 10k now. The big item for 07 was ordering a new Nikon D3. I hope it arrives soon, I can't wait to try it out.

2007 was the year I...

- Left my long-time girlfriend (5 years)
- Listed my first house for sale due to joint-ownership (see previous)
- Realized just how seldom I contacted old friends, and was disturbed by how little I noticed until recently
- Made many new friends
- Finally, upon being well into my third decade of life, decided to stand up for myself :cool:

  • got my first speeding ticket
  • Realized if you want something done, you are more than likely going to have to do it yourself
  • Realized I love video games
  • Realized I found a great girl
  • Realized I have commitment issues, but they are getting better
  • Got certified in my major (1 semester late unfortunately, but so glad it happened)
  • Realized you should use (in a good way) your parents as much as you can
  • Realized I had to change my fashion taste
  • Received an iPhone and Wii
  • Realized the Washington State Cougars are a legit basketball team
 
  • Had Big Surgery for an Unknown Disease
  • Met the Girl of my DREAMS!!!!
  • Got an iPhone
  • Incorporated
  • Made my first $100,000
  • Became the first person in LA County to Contract the Flu this season
  • (Something else that I dont think should be said on MR) ;):D
  • and a number of other things
 
Highlights of 2007

  • Returned from living in France for a year
  • Got a good job here in Santa Barbara
  • Bought an iPhone (sweet)
  • Working in speech therapy research study
  • Expecting our first child in March
  • Became a Demi :)
 
  • officially started my photography business
  • six months later, my photography was featured in Better Homes and Gardens Magazine and website
  • tried to learn to deal with my fears and stresses of owning my own business (haven't been much of a success yet)
  • my girlfriend and I moved in together
  • celebrated 4 year anniversary with said girlfriend
  • realized I wanted to marry said girlfriend
  • got really into cooking
  • didn't get much Apple gear, except for an iPhone, and a 2nd gen Nano for gf's birthday gift

  • Started a decent job
  • Sat through the worst British Summer in history
  • Got introduced and subsequently addicted to Naruto (anime series)
  • Turned around my finances and paid off most debts
  • Got a Mac (iMac 20") as my main desktop
  • Started wearing glasses
  • .... erm that's about it
 
2007 was the year I...

  • Became a father of a great little girl.
  • Didn't get posted overseas, but did get promoted.
  • Sold my first stock photos online. Photographed three weddings.
  • Convinced my wife we need a Mac Pro for our next computer (which actually took no convincing at all)
  • Lost most of my camera gear by leaving it on a city bus.
  • Got my first non-hand-me-down iPod.
  • Took trips to England, France, and Russia.
  • Totalled a car and could have killed my family (fell asleep at the wheel), but got very lucky and we're all OK.
  • Hosted Christmas for the first time.
  • Cooked a turkey for the first time (see Christmas).
 
2007 was the year I:

-Got my second iPod (Nano 3rd gen)

In 2007, I made the switch.. it's been a busy year (since March)..

I bought my first Emac and titanium laptop (company auction) and fell in love with Mac.
Like those so much, I bought a used iBook G4 (upgraded the ram and hard drive)

I went on to save my pennies and got the new iMac 2.4 24", (again) liked it so much I had a small conversion party at Xmas for my wife and son (2 more iMacs).

Now I am dangerous... I have all this tinkering knowledge (from using Windows for 20 years) and I can show all of my friends that I don't have to do that with my macs, it just works! If XP or Vista worked as well as OSX, I don't think I would have been as willing to switch. Curiousity got me, and I am not looking back. Elvis has left the Microsoft building :D
 
  • Passed my first year of university then realized that it wasn't what I wanted to be doing and came home to work
  • Landed a job I.T related even though I didn't want anything to do with I.T after leaving university...:rolleyes:
  • Crashed my first car for the second time
  • Bought a new car due to the first being beyond repair
  • Left a lot of great friends back in university and came home to realize that they were pretty much the only friends that were worth anything to me.
  • Fully appreciated how wonderful having a car and being able to drive is.
 
2007 was the year
I finally got my first degree in Social Science Psychology
Started 4th year honours
Bought an ipod touch
Sold XBOX 360 and bought Nintendo Wii
Bought ipod shuffle
Lost another 7 kilos
Got addicted to RPM (spin classes)
Started going to gym 6 times a week from 3-4
Got my navel pierced

  • Replaced my PowerBook G3 with a MacBook
  • Finshed my freshman year of high school
  • Got an iPod nano and an iPod touch
  • Found the girl of my dreams (I hope!)
  • Turned 16
  • Got my drivers license and a car
  • Learned I needed glasses
  • Had to put my dog to sleep

2007 was the year I...

congrats to all the new parents and new parents-to-be!

- got back together with an ex (and it has already lasted longer than the first go-around, coming up on a year)
- started seeing a neurologist & started taking anti-depressants
- decided to start working out regularly
- got hooked on spinning !
- got to spend another year with my dear kitty cat (I say this because she fell very ill yesterday and just had surgery today but is now awake and ok)
- saw my best friend get married
- saw the debilitating effect my stress has on my life and made a conscious effort to try my hardest to handle situations better
- realized I had a lot to be thankful for
