Word was this week that Manchester United would rather let him rot in the reserves for the remainder of his contract than agree to a transfer... I suppose we'll see how much conviction they have once Real's not unimpressive chequebook comes out.

Arsenal vs. Real Madrid the next day is sold out. That's as good as you'll get on general sale in London at that time of the year.

Can you "scalp" tickets to that game? I don't know if you guys call it that, but that's what we call it when people, sometimes illegally, resell the tickets at the event itself or through an outside agent. You end up paying more for the tickets, but does this occur/how do you do it?

lol. let him rot!

I don't care much for Ronaldo, but if that happened United and Fergie would drop a bit in my estimation.

Didn't know Fergie had any further to drop

Mark Huges as Man City manager, guess that means he is out of the running for Fergie's replacement as the fans wouldn't like that. Although if he did well enough with a big team it might just over come that.

Porto out of the Champions league over alleged bribery. Jose Mourinho was their manager at the time but not named as part of the allegations.

What do you all think the chances are for Keane? I think he's too young/inexperienced, at least for now. Whoever replaces him will not reach the same heights I'm sure. In fact, the way things are going these days I doubt we'll ever see another managerial career of that length with one team. These days managers last a few months or a season.

Which is stupid because if you look at the long tack managers they have a very good record.

I always thought Huges had the best chance but as I said before he might have just blown that.

Keane got Sunderland promoted and kept them up. If he can do the same next year then I figure he has a decent chance of getting in. I imagine has a very similar managerial team talk style as Fergie.

Of course Man U might go for someone outside of the ex player now manager three of Keane, Bruce, Huges.

Really don't understand why Hughes has gone to Man City. Still, guess a year there won't hurt (no doubt he'll be fired for finishing top 10).

Really hope Man Utd do stick Ronaldo in the reserves if he insists on leaving.

On a sad note for me but guessing a happy one for jaffa, the BBC has updated it's football site and now lists Hull in the Premier league section and of course Birmingham now listed in the Championship, why couldn't they wait until after Euro 2008 so I could pretend for a while we didn't get relegated. However, we are 6-1 joint favourites to get promoted (along with QPR)

Can't say I fully understand Mark Hughes going to City. But, never mind.

I think Steve McLaren would be a cracking manager for Blackburn. Thats the kind of move he should have made, not straight into the England job.

Heh. We're going to be a world brand. :D

This is all very surreal, actually – seeing Premier League web pages and stuff gradually being updated to feature little old us. It's really going to be bizarre when the pre-season guides come out and we're featured prominently, it's not that long ago we were in Division Three (as it was then) and we were little more than a footnote. I suppose folk had best start learning the names of some of our players. Here's one to start you off with...

It's referred to as touting over here (the folks who sell them are ticket touts, see) and it's illegal here too – at least, it is to sell the tickets at more than their face value. Generally they loiter around outside the ground, offering to sell tickets or buy them off you.

Excellent, that's what I'll do! If anyone knows the schedule and has a recommendation for the best game I could see sometime between July 27th and August 16th, that would be great. If you don't, I'll certainly find one as the time draws nearer.

Depends how you look at it I suppose, if he joins a 'big' club then goes back out on loan, great. However hes most likely to stay at Everton and I think thats not a great move tbh.

We'll see, fairly sure he'll join United though.

I think if he's got his head screwed on he'll see he will get greater opportunities quicker at Arsenal, and the youngsters are always given a good chance if they're good enough. Look at Cesc Fabregas, into the first 11 at 18.

I'm not so sure I really want him though.. we've got enough 17 year olds..

FIFA really have got it in for England (starting to thing we have no chance of hosting the world cup in 2018)

Turns out they want to downgrade the match against Trinidad & Tobago to a A match because we used 7 subs. I remember hearing on the commentary before half time that it had been agreed we could use 7, the ref allowed us to us 7 so why are FIFA now bitching, do wish Sepp Blatter would ****-off-and-die
