The Spanish looking pretty handy as well right now. Good tournament so far.

They look handy don't they. Wouldn't mind a Holland Vs. Spain final, you would see some good football there.

Although both of those teams always underperform in major tournaments so it will be someone like Germany Vs. Italy and it will be deathly boring!

Still.
BBC Sport understands

Uh oh, he's not coming then..

He probably heard that the Tigers used Arsenal's training facilities prior to our play-off semi final away at Watford, and again before the final itself. The starstruck youngster maybe thinks that if he signs for the Gunners he might have a chance of meeting Deano.

Yes, that's probably it. :)

I didn't realise you used them before the final too! Very very nice they are apparently too. Does that mean Arsene has had a word to someone to make sure that's 6 points for us next season in return then?

Apparently so. Phil Brown said something along the lines of it being important to prepare in Premier League surroundings to instill a Premier League mentality into the lads. It certainly seemed to do the trick.

No. Prepare for home and away maulings, complete with daft hand actions. :D

You enjoyed that match? It was a shocker a win for Sweden was a win for football. It was dire, the passing between the back 3/4 terrible.

Greece were playing the Rangers strategy, play for a draw and then hopefully nick a goal somewhere.

Side note: I'm so glad that Zenit beat Rangers.

i think i enjoy most matches. except for the majority of MLS "ping pong" matches. but i will watch them..

and yer summary is right about greece/sweden. i don't think greece will be sneaking up on anyone this time. :apple:

i hate 'em as a red devil, love 'im as a "portuguese man 'o war" ;)

Potentially a very good appointment – for one thing, winning the World Cup isn't a bad thing to have on your managerial CV. Mind, we'll wait and see if he can survive that first crushing defeat against the Tigers. ;)

Any mention of how long he's signed up for?

Not that I've heard mentioned on FiveLive... personally, I'm pleased to see someone there to keep egos in check but I'm not a great fan of his reported methods. If anyone thought Chelsea tolerated divers and cheaters, we may see more of this this season.

I dunno... but what can you do?

My one concern would be that he's been out of club management for quite a while – and has he actually managed a 'big' club before? Plus, he's had success in his native Brazil, but has no experience in the European leagues...

It's a fantastic opportunity to prove himself at European club level, all things considered. We'll just see how long it takes for him to properly lose his rag with someone. ;)
