true. Texas Offense is as good as normal. It is texas defense this year that is just well crap and the argument on why Texas is over rate this year. It has struggled defensively this year way way to much for a rank 3 team.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel on the defense based on one game. They've played great all season long otherwise. We'll see against NU, and hopefully again in the Rose Bowl.

Nebraska is good, but they're not a top-tier team. They would need to really bring it against Texas, and hope for a bad day by the Longhorns, to play spoiler.

I've been a big TCU fan lately, but I don't see them getting into the championship without some major stumbling by a very good team ranked above them.

Ah, those wacky PETA folks are at it again. Following the death of Georgia mascot UGA VII, they are saying Georgia should replace Uga with...an animatronic dog. Yeah, I'm sure Georgia will get right on that.

Gotta love this comment (from the link):

Why don’t we replace PETA with animatronic morons that put in their two-cents where it isn’t necessary all the time?

I lol'd. :D

I feel Neb is where Texas was in the late 90's/early 00's

At least they beat OU:p

Here's to them beating UT and TCU in the title game!

Nebraska's offense is horrible and will not have a prayer of moving the ball consistently or scoring much against Texas' defense. Nebraska's defense should do a better job of slowing down Texas' offense than anyone else has.

Colt McCoy really impressed me last night. As I mentioned earlier in the year, I've never been a fan because I think he's a product of a very well-crafted system and most of his passing yardage comes from good WR's making plays after catching short passes. His running and field vision were fantastic against A&M, though. If he has a good game (not even a great game) against a great Nebraska defense, he'll win the Heisman.

As for Texas' chances in the national championship game, I'm still not ready to believe they can take out Alabama or Florida. They've got some issues in the secondary and their "great" run defense was exposed somewhat last night. But what do I know? I thought Texas would be 10-2 or 9-3 right now.

On a different note, the blue field is more awful than normal today. That shiny crap is almost impossible to watch with Boise's all-blue uniforms. And what's with the dark gray numbers on the Bronco's jerseys? Poor design, Nike.

Today is the Holy War, the most anticipated game in Utah every year. BYU has their annual square off with Utah that is sure to a nail biter until the very end. For those of you who don't know much about the Holy War, it is an incredibly heated game. Check it out here:

The Holy War

For a Utahn, this is the most important game of the season. Nearly the entire state will be dressed in red or blue and half the state will go to bed crying like a baby.

I can't wait!

anyone notice the new nike unies this past week?

Normally, I'm not one to gripe about something as petty as uniforms, but these things have gotten out of hand. All of them I have seen look terrible. The all white VT models were boring. I don't know what was going on with the Florida unis today. What was all that white striping on the shoulder. Then, I tune into the Arkansas/LSU game, and the LSU unis look more like Georgia Tech or something.

Anyway, today was good. We may not be going to a bowl, but at least we knocked those Mississippi Rebels down the bowl chain a bit. There's nothing like pounding your rivals. :)

You certainly accomplished that!

These rivalry games have been great. Lots of upsets and near upsets.

As of right now, Weis still hasn't given a post-game press conference. I'm thinking when he does come out, it's going to be to announce his "resignation."

Weis won resign, he will either stay or get fired and Notre Dame will have to pay him off.

The broadcast announcers were saying pre-game that he announced he would not be giving any pre-game interviews or post-game with the media.

That may be true, but ESPN was sitting there waiting for him and said they were going to break into their coverage when (not if) he came out to the PC room.

I've been saying since early in the year that I thought Kevin Sumlin would be the coach there next year. A lot of people think he's not high profile enough for the job, but I think those people are fools.

Well I don't think the ND job is as "elite" as ND would like to believe these days

ND is nothing but a mediocre program

Why they think they can lure Meyer or Stoops away is delusional

I mean how do you recruit for Indiana over Florida? No way Meyer would even consider that unless they paid him a ******** of money which wont happen

Heck even OU is easier to recruit for with all the ingrown talent in OU/Texas region and doesnt freeze in winter

IMO, outside of its religious affiliation and locality for instate recruits, I can see no reason why any recruit would want to go play at ND over other "big" name programs

Notre Dame might not be good right now but it is still the most historic program in college football. That is why coaching there is a dream job for a lot of coaches.
