Boise State and TCU need to have their fans descend on Phoenix in crazy numbers. Show the BCS that their fans travel well. Money talks, and here's the opportunity.

If money talked then Penn State would be in the Orange bowl.

Rumors were that since this is the last year for BCS on Fox that they did not want to increase ad revenue when they hand it over to ESPN and did not care about tv ratings.

Also didn't help that the president of the big10 was lobbying for Iowa

It's nice to see two unbeatens against each other in a BCS bowl, but I do kinda wish it hadn't been TCU/Boise St.

The problem is that Cincinatti was going to the Sugar bowl, and that bowl's officials would rather have Florida than either TCU or Boise.

From a viewer's standpoint, this should be a heck of a good game - nevermind it's a rematch from last year's Poinsettia Bowl.

As for selecting UT over TCU, based on the past few weeks' worth of games, I'd pick TCU to beat Texas if they played each other tomorrow. UT has not looked very impressive lately.

All things considered, I think we got some good matchups this year, but it could have been just a bit better.

Why do you think Cincinnati was a lock for the Sugar? The SEC is locked into the Sugar, so it was always known that the loser of Alabama-Florida was going there.

As for TCU's fans filling up the Fiesta Bowl, I wouldn't hold my breath. They don't even fill up their 40k-seat stadium.

Because in the past the Big East team doesn't typically travel well out west. I guess they could have gotten an invite to the Orange bowl, but it didn't work out that way this year.

That makes sense. They probably didn't get the Orange Bowl invite because they were there last year.

I still can't believe they matched up Boise State against TCU. People want to see how these teams match up against upper level BCS schools, not each other. Lame lame lame.

Agreed. The BCS is just trying to protect the BCS conferences. How would it look if both TCU and Boise St. beat teams from the BCS conferences. This is all about circling the wagons to cover their butts.

Nearly all seniors cry after their last/most important games

I am glad it was so fun for you to watch one of the best college players of all time and one of the best/most giving person cry. People find the dumbest reasons to hate on Tebow because they can't find any real reasons.

I can't stand him, not going to get into here because it would probably be moved to the PRSI forum. I think he is a prick and just because someone doesn't like him and sees him crying like a little girl. Wow, I didn't see any bama players crying. Wasn't that there last game? Yeah what ever. Sorry, can't stand the guy never have and I never will. I can't stand the Gators, let alone any team out of Florida.

how am I a sore loser? I don't like florida.

You are making fun of someone because they cried after losing a game. You know how much pressure he puts on himself and how much passion he plays with?

Why would bama players cry? They have the NC to play for.

Nearly every senior cries in their last games. You are blind if you have never seen a senior cry after a game (they also don't zoom in on their face like they did with Tebow).

Did you watch the Pitt game? Those players sitting in the tunnel with their heads down and hands on their helmet? yeah they were crying.

Have you ever watched a senior day? All the emotion that comes out when they run out of their home tunnel for the last time.

wow.

and name one valid reason you can hate tebow. It is not his fault for all the attention he gets.

Tebow is going to leave College Football with a Heisman Trophy, Two SEC Championship Rings, two National Championship Rings, and competed for a second Heisman and a third Championship Ring in both the SEC and the National Championship. He is going to go down as one of the greatest players ever in College Football. I think your reference to the PRSI is clear indication that what you object to about Tebow is not what he has done as a player, but what he has stood for as a person.

Not everyone is going to agree with your personal beliefs. Grow up.

Agree. TCU should at least be playing Florida in the Sugar, Boise should get either Cincinnati or Georgia Tech.

Shut up, Tebow will play for the NFL and make millions. Also he could have gone out last year as a winner, He is stupid for that.

Last year I was at the game and did not see one bama player cry.
This year only Tebow cried, along with his roommate Riley Cooper.

TCU's fans will be more likely to attend something closer to home, though. I think that's why both TCU and Boise got the Fiesta. They are a little closer to the Fiesta than some of the others. Of course, TCU is actually closer to the Sugar than the Fiesta, but I guess they wanted "western" teams there. I think a Florida/TCU matchup would be interesting.

On an unrelated note: All year, I have heard how we (Mississippi State) had the toughest schedule in the country. So, last night, after all the championship games were over and all the bowl invites were out, I ran some numbers. Here is the rundown:

10 out of 12 opponents are going to bowl games.

4 opponents played in their respective championship games (Bama, Florida, Georgia Tech, and Houston), with 2 of them winning their conference (Bama, Georgia Tech)

3 opponents are playing in BCS games (Bama, Florida, Georgia Tech), with Bama playing for the BCS championship.

Combined record of these 10 opponents: 93-31, or .750 winning percentage. Four opponents won 10 or more games. Heck, even MTSU won 9 games and finished second in their conference. (Yeah, I know, it’s the Sun Belt, but still...)

The fact that Dan Mullen went 5-7 against this schedule, with the limited talent he had, is amazing. I know he won’t get it, but he deserves coach of the year, even if it’s only SEC coach of the year. Geesh.

He's a prick?? He could've left a year early and went to the pros, but he's a prick??

Hardly anyone will watch that game.

As someone who lives in Fort Worth and spends time on TCU's campus regularly, I can tell you New Orleans is a much more attractive New Year's destination for Frog fans. There's also a certain level of disappointment at not only being left out of the title game, but at being matched up with another non-AQ school.

TCU fans will have a decent showing attendance-wise, but the fanbase is small to begin with, so I just don't see them filling up their share.

Sagarin has MSU's schedule listed as the 8th toughest in the nation. Y'all definitely have a lot to look forward to. Mullen is a great coach, and while Torbush and Koenning are both questionable coordinators, it looks like the future is bright for the Bulldogs.

Huh. I never realized TCU was that small. According to Wikipedia, the enrollment is around 9k. I figured New Orleans would be a better draw. New Orleans on New Years? Lots of fun. Plus, it's not a bad drive from Ft. Worth. Arizona, OTOH, is a long way. West Texas stretches a looong way. :)

I'm a bit wary of Torbush myself. One of the knocks on him when he was at A&M is that he couldn't handle spread offenses, and it showed this year. Auburn lit us up this year. They actually handled Florida fairly well, but I think that was more due to their offense not being as good as years past. Mullen knowing their offense so well also helped, I think. Yeah, our entire defensive secondary was new, but a lot of the problems were scheme. I mean, Georgia Tech passed for 250+ yards! The frustrating part is that we were 6 inches from being 6-6. If our QB stretches the ball out on a 4th down play vs. LSU, we would be 6-6. I have trouble believing we had only the 8th toughest schedule, though. I can't imagine who played a tougher schedule. I can't wait to get some patsies on the schedule and have a winning record. :D

Why? Because I don't like him as a person and I can't stand his preachyness I have to grow up? Really?

I have never said he wasn't a good player. NEVER. I have only commented that I don't like him. Heck I don't like any team that comes out of Florida or wears the color orange!

He's a prick?? He could've left a year early and went to the pros, but he's a prick??

Hardly anyone will watch that game.

And what does that have to do with the way I feel about him? I have never commented negatively on his playing performance. Yes I don't like him. So that means he is a sorry player which means he can't go to the pro's??? I didn't like Maurice Clarett, I thought he was a "bad guy" too, yet he went to the pro's. So I am really trying to see the correlation between someone not being someone I like and going to the pro's?

Anyhow...

I was hoping for a Bama vs TCU match up.... But hopefully we can take care of business and bring down the mighty Texas Longhorns...
