Of course he isn't injury prone – didn't you read his little brochure? :p

I think both kits are lacking. The Hull kit looked great last season.
I much prefer us in stripes, nice thick ones at that, so I was very pleased with last season's effort. However, our new shirt does have a nice retro vibe about it and, as plain amber goes, I think it looks rather nice. The best plain shirt since the 1950's top my Jaffatar™ wears.

Mind, I certainly wouldn't have complained if Umbro had come up with something along the lines of West Brom or Sunderland's new offerings – both are splendid striped kits, the former only spoilt by having a plain back.

I agree. I like both. And these as well...

Normally I wouldn't want to mention Beckham, but I had to notice that in the BBC's latest article about everyone's favorite winger they managed to get the name of our league wrong...(it's M L S, thank you very much).

I don't like Terry, but I can't really imagine him playing anywhere besides Chelsea...the fans can't be liking the possibility of a move.

Don't worry your Lordship, they and many other media outfits still manage to get our name wrong all the time too. 'Hull' play rugby league, we do not. ;)

'Mr Chelsea' is wanting a move it seems, at least if you believe the tabloid tittle tattle. I must admit I was amused to hear the comments of a Chelsea supporter bemoaning the fact that other clubs can't compete with Manchester City's financial clout - players are only going there for the money. Hmm - wasn't it not that long ago that Chelsea were in the same position Manchester City are now in? I don't recall too many grumbles from their support then.

So far as red and white stripes go, I've no problem with Sunderland's choice of attire – they wear them with a stylish panache. Sheffield United wish they looked half as good.

However, all bets are off so far as new kits are concerned – Manchester City have the best looking togs in the Premier League this season.

Simple and classy. The shirt I mean, not Tevez.

Looks like Hull get their "top" striker by agreeing a fee with Fulham for Bobby Zamora. Link

The £5 mill is about what Fulham paid for him. (I think. Just going on memory), so good business for Fulham.

When the ball hits your head when you sit in row z, thats Zamora

:D

He was a little lost for a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time last season.

He has to agree personal terms first mind, as well as actually want to move to the East Riding. Getting players to actually move here can sometimes be an issue, especially the southern-based ones.

I see Zamora as the sort of player that can do the stuff Marlon King did during his time here – by that I mean holding the ball up and all that and creating chances for his strike partner, rather than upsetting other players and getting charged with sexual assault.

His signing would be only part of the solution to our striking woes, we still need quality to go alongside him.

pivo6 – I think he arrived at Fulham in a joint deal with John Paintsil, if memory serves it was about £7million for the pair.

So, Adebayor has passed his Man City medical. Any comments from the Gooners? I know he's scored a fair few goals, but I do think you need more of a 'fox in the box'. Someone who isn't afraid of having a shot on goal rather than passing it while 6 yards out :)

I'm not so sad to see him go, though he was fairly productive at Arsenal. I don't think that finishing strikers was where we were weak last season, but in the lack of a holding midfielder who wouldn't give the ball away too easily, and another defender to handle the middle of the field.

I've seen that Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax has joined the squad, presumably in a center/left back capacity. Maybe RVP needed a friend? (I know, he's Belgian, not Dutch, whatever.)

In terms of midfielders, it looks like there is a possibility of an Eboue/Melo swap with Fiorentina, but I don't know if he fits the mold of a holding midfielder or not...

You like red & white stripes

Agreed. Adebayor had his moments but was very inconsistent except two seasons ago where the squad was firing on all cylinders. He was a decent forward for Arsenal but i can't say i'll miss him that much to be honest.

Maybe he has a pot of tea under it that he needs to keep warm?

And on a sadder note, tonight BBC Wales News had a report about John Hartson. The poor bugger is ravaged with cancer. :(

That's a shame. Hopefully they will be a able to treat it.

I believe that Melo has signed for Juventus.

Tevez is really the ugliest player I think I have ever seen on pitch
Tevez is certainly no oil painting, but the ugliest player ever to (dis)grace the hallowed turf? Methinks you never saw Ian Dowie in his prime...

On a more serious note, it's not good to hear about John Hartson. With the cancer spread to his brain and lungs I doubt the prognosis is a good one.

Back to kit news, Birmingham's home kit is a bit of a stinker. It reminds me of the kit the Everton had for one season in the mid 1980's:

but at least the colors are better than Southampton's away kit which uses the same template:

They are both hideous..

I have devoted a whole thread to new kits @owlsalive.com but decided not to here simply because I seem to be in a constant state violations and probation's here... it just wasn't worth being banned again... but I do love looking at the new kits..
