Anyone else around?

Too early for me, I recorded it and have just finished watching it. Just got time to grab something to eat before the Moto GP starts.

I watched it.

Highlight for me (other than the results) was Heidfeld in the grid walk: "I'm slowest in the wanking"

You work in Formula 1, is this a big competition between all the drivers? :D

While watching F1, I occasionally get an imaginary image of Bernie Ecclestone sitting behind a massive control console a la Ming The Merciless in the opening scenes of Flash Gordon, cackling like a mad thing.

Except instead of buttons marked 'fire rain' and 'ice tornado' or whatever, he has 'rookie driver cock-up', 'experienced driver losing his cool' and 'dodgy race control decision'.

Anyone else? :p

Since it was only 10:00PM instead of 5:00AM for me I decided to stay up and watch it, since JB and Brawn could have clinched. And after how diabolical qualifying had been...

SV did fantastic all weekend and it was nice to see that excellence rewarded with the win.

Brawn almost had the Constructor's Championship anyway, but Rosberg's passing under the yellow was not penalized since his "Low Fuel" warning light distracted him. Still, they should wrap it up at Interlagos.

I still think JB is going to win the title. He's been skating on his points pad most of the second half of the season and now that SV is as much a threat as RB is, I think he's going to finally get back on track.

UPDATE: Michael Waltrip Racing will test Jarno Trulli and Mika Salo at International Speedway in Lakeland, Fl., the week prior to the NASCAR season finale at Homestead Miami Speedway. Trulli, 35, currently drives for Toyota in Formula One. He finished second last week in the Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka and is currently eighth in the World Championship. Trulli's sole F1 win came at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix in 2004 while driving for Renault. After Trulli completes the F1 season on November 1 at Abu Dhabi, he will be fitted for his seat at MWR then join the organization to observe for the final three races. Trulli dropped in at Michigan Speedway last June to watch the Sprint Cup race. With the current uncertainty surrounding Toyota's future in F1, it appears that Trulli is considering stock cars as a viable option. Salo, 42, competed in F1 from 1994 to 2002 and posted two podium finishes. In 2007, Salo won the GT2 class of the American Le Mans Series. He currently competes for a team that MWR co-owner Rob Kauffman has an interest in Europe.(FoxSports)(10-7-2009)

I don't know how to feel.. I guess I'll be going to some NASCAR races soon...

I think Kimi is choosing Reb Bull over McLaren. One reason is Hamilton who apparently doesn't want Kimi there. Another reason is the pay. McLaren don't want to pay Kimi 25$M a year which was a little surprise because Kimi gets about 30 million from Ferrari now.

Red Bull is also better choice because of Vettel's presence and his best friend in F1 actually is Kimi. We can't either forget Kimi's passion for rally which of he can enjoy with Red Bull racing team.

just read on massa's web site that he came back to maranello this week (2 days ago) and is back training.

Good to hear. He's supposed to test a 2007 car in the near future (either all the teams allowed him to do so or the 2007 car is considered old enough to not breach the in-season testing ban).

You can do whatever you like with old cars. In Ferrari's case, the F2007 is 'owned' by a private customer, who 'loans' them the car for use, even though it is always in the possession of Ferrari. That's how they managed to get around the factory shutdown rules and test Schumacher in August.

There had been some chatter about needing permission to test (Sir Frank Williams was quoted at Singapore or Japan saying it would be ridiculous for a team to deny it), so I am guessing that there might have been an F60 test option and an F2007 option and Ferrari went with the F2007 option since it didn't contravene the rules.

First laps of the new Abu Dhabi track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikvjwBEYk50

Can't say I'm a big fan from that...

Obviously that wasn't an F1 car but still that looks like a very, very slow circuit. More so - it was very stop-start even with that car, in an F1 car they'd hardly have a chance to get on the gas before they're braking for the next.

Expect serious brake overheating problems at that race.

Pitlane exit is cool, mind.

He must of atleast been curious. All the crazy shape buildings made it look interesting but the track itself didnt, all that sand isnt going to help either.
