But Trulli was saying Sutil forced him on to the grass which caused the whole thing...

Sutil drove his normal racing line, just slower than usual as Kimi was fanying around with a broken wing. Trulli tried to overtake on a line that simply was not there, too late in the corner. He was not alongside or even close at turn in so had to expect Sutil to drift out to the edge of the track as usual. He simply did not allow for that at all and tried to push it round the outside regardless.

I still blame Kimi as he should not have been driving on the racing line with a significantly damaged wing.

Kimi was probably thinking of his post race ice cream...

Not sure what to make of Kobayashi, either a tad reckless or just bloody brave...

Kovalainen under investigation. Twice. He has been a naughty boy today

Edit: I like Kobayashi. He is willing to pass, fight hard and actually risk the car. He has nothing to lose and everything to prove.

Sucks about the punctured tire.

I have seen maybe two races this season, and I'm sadly not up to date. Why have the tables turned in terms of Vettel and Button being on top constantly?

Well done Button, well done Brawn GP! Wonder what Honda thinks of THAT. :D

It was pretty entertaining race, and I feel like the field is full of quality drivers.

Kobayashi reminds me a little of Juan Pablo Montoya, not the most disciplined driver but brave and a little swashbuckling.

It's a long story, but there's plenty of info out there to bring you up to speed. The short version. Vettel is a great driver. Jensen had a great car early on compared to other teams.

Wow, way to play down the amazing achievement of Jenson and the whole Brawn team. :(
Like I said, it's the short version. ;)

You are right that it's an amazing achievement, and I'm happy for Jensen, but I would have liked it better if he had not fallen back so much starting at Silverstone & showed better form later in the season. He didn't really race again until today.

Truth be told, I was really hoping Rubins would take it away from Button.

I admit I haven't followed every race, however Button got the results he needed so I can't see him as anything but a worthy champion. He drove well today for sure.

Always good to see Webber up there as well.

Well everyone has being saying he needs to prove he deserves to be World Champion. I think these laps settle that.

I don't think so at all, one simply has to ask whether such questions would ever have arisen had he simply been capable of consistently outperforming his teammate over the duration of the season.

But the truth is that over the last 9 races he's not been able to match his much older teammate on pace, and that is worrying, I don't think such doubts would have arisen had he simply beaten Rubens on the days when he didn't have a car capable of winning, he didn't and couldn't… and that is why doubts exist.

Ross Brawn wasn't exactly glowing in praise of his performance (over the second half of the season) either when he was interviewed on the pitwall after the race.

But congratulations to Brawn (and Button) all the same I guess. ;)

Could've done with seeing the Webber/Kimi incident from Kimi's in-car camera again, it's certainly debatable as to whether Webber moved just the once though... looked like he moved into the middle squeezing Kimi, then moved over again blocking him. Have to say though, it's f**king ridiculous to suggest that it was Kimi at fault for causing the Sutil/Trulli incident. Seriously.

I would say Button is a good Formula One driver, but not a "great" driver. He performs well in a fast car but I feel like he doesn't have that extra edge that the best drivers have.

I still think he deserves his title, but If I had to pick the best driver on the grid I'd say there are a few names above his on that list.

Woo well done Button, and Brawn.

Really enjoyed the race today, overtaking, kimi's car being ste on fire by Heikki, tailed of a bit at the end but thats what happens are the cars space out.

Sour grapes?
No sour grapes. I'm glad for Button, he's the 09 WC, but he wasn't my first choice for it. I think once the field was leveled in terms of car development (i.e. double diffusers), Button did nothing to shine. Today is the first time I saw him drive like a champ in a long time. I was excited by his success in the first half of the season and disappointed when he ended up a mid pack driver again after that. Where was the driving he showed us today?

I wanted Rubins to upset things. I think Vettel is probably the best bet for the next new WC. I'd like to see Webber get one too. I think his potential hasn't been entirely tapped.

Nevertheless, a WC is a WC. Congrats to JB.

Congratulations to JB. I thought he drove great. Sad in a way for Rubens, but I guess that's just how it all fell out. If he goes to Williams next year I doubt he'll be as much of a contender, but who knows.

Looks like Toyota offer Kimi a ride for next year, but the current offer isn't what he was looking for. I guess that signals good things for Toyota's intent for next year unless it was, "Get a WDC or we're done." from management. I could see them picking up Heidfeld, because I'm not sure if they saw enough out of the standin last weekend to offer a full drive. Oddly I also read they had offered Jarno a contact as well. Seemed like he was out more than Glock based on reports I had seen.

Trulli and Glock appear to both have been offerred conracts - but it seems that the terms are not what either are looking for.

Bruno Senna is also due a test with Renault according to autosport.com. Of note, in the article it is noted that USF1 don't want him. I wonder if they have their drivers sorted then.
