So what did you guys think of the "Skill's" last night? Chara got a freak'n rocket( 105.9 mph ) ouch :D

I only saw a little bit-I recorded it and will watch it later today.

What did ppl think of the player intro ceremony-specifically the part with the kids at the start-I thought it was really cool.
 
I loved the Ovechkin fall...that was absolutely hilarious. Fleury was funny too..I loved the jumping jacks he was doing while Ovechkin was trying to shoot on his gaol. Nice to see the guys having fun for once and letting loose.
 
Flyers didn't show up to play against the Bolt's last night :eek: I was afraid of that:rolleyes: Shut out by a 41 year old goalie who looked like Patrick Roy:p
Watch out for Tampa Bay in the playoffs...;)

Does anyone know if Jordan Staal has a rap sheet? Because I don't see how else he could have escaped further suspension for the punch to the head-I mean we have president for this-Ben Eager did the same thing and got 7 games for it.

AFAIK, he doesn't have a history of that type of act. He did get the automatic 1 game suspension.... I'm sure they warned him that future incidents would involve harsher penalties.


Leafs won last night and made a solid character re-signing today (Mike Brown).

I wish Kaberle would waive his no-trade clause already.....:mad:


Franzen scored five goals tonight against the Senators!

Mark my word ... Kaberle is gone ... he will wave the no-trade clause this year.

Even if we get a bag of Pucks for him ... his pansy style is just not a fit on our beloved Leafs. :cool:

I just don't agree with that at all. Pansy style?:confused: He's got 31 points. He has the second highest number of shots for the defense. Without him, who would you play for 22 minutes a game? Lebda, who is -19? BTW, the next highest scoring defenseman (there are 3 of them) on the Leafs has 11 points.

I don't want to see him go, but he's really the only tradeable asset we have. Hopefully we can get something back of value. He's a very good player. He used to be great, but now he's just very good. It's too bad something wasn't worked out to trade him last season.


Leafs fans have a history of running decent players out of town on a rail......




Anyone else see the Pens/Isles highlights? DOWN GOES DIPIETRO!! Johnson leveled him with one punch. Smart move DiPietro......it's not like you're injury prone or anything.:rolleyes:

I just don't see Kaberle as a tough enough player ... I want to see us get something for him before his value drops below a bag of pucks.

And yes Kessel is also soft ... he would be OK if he had someone else helping him.

on a bright note ... Reimer gets his first shut-out ... this guy could be our best player:(
 
Not every player needs to be tough, but he's been tough enough to play through 12 years and 820 NHL games.

His value won't drop, but our time to actually get something good for him will come to pass if his no-trade clause isn't waived.

I don't agree with him either. Kaberle may not be the best defensive defenceman around, but without him, the Leafs would have so much trouble scoring, both at even strength and the power play. We're actually lucky to have such a d-man for his salary.

I don't want the Leafs to lose his offensive talents, but if we're going to lose him, I don't mind if the Leafs need to suffer even more this year if we got a decent prospect.

there were like 3 near line brawls. it was nuts. blame steve ott for being a cheap-shotting scum bag. he kept taking runs at bruins so something had to be done.

it was an awesome game. 1 fight at 19:59 in the 1st, another at 19:58, and a third at 19:56. then 2 goals in the next 1:20.

ended up with a total of 89 PIM for the game between the two teams. lucic scored his 21st and bergeron got another 2 goal game.. he was so close to the hat trick but missed the empty net :eek: he still doesn't get enough credit around the league, he truly is one of the best players

Our surprise rookie goalie, James Reimer, got a shutout last night, so the Leafs sent The Monster down today for a 14 day conditioning stint (read: play well and gain your confidence back or we'll trade or buy you out). I just don't get it.... this guy was supposed to be amazing. He's had his moments, but he just hasn't adjusted to the NHL very well. Before he signed with the Leafs, he was courted by 3-4 different teams..... hell, the Stars tried to impress him by introducing him to G.W. Bush.

I hope that Reimer is the real thing, and not just a flash in the pan.
