An article about Tim Horton on the front page of CNN (which links to si.com)? Wha?
Slow 'whatever' day??
If memory serves, Tim only made about $5K per year at the height of his career.
Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

By the end of his, Horton's marriage appeared headed to divorce and despite better success with his shops, a $100,000-plus salary with Buffalo, and four Stanley Cup rings.....
Okay:
Thanks. I must be thinking of the entry point in the NHL, in his day.![]()
Oh well, it's nice to dream...It's crazy to compare how much they used to make to how much they make now.
The article also says that he was making $8,000 with the Leafs prior to 1955, and then they cut his salary in half for the 55-56 season because he got injured the season before. Classy.
And.....Stamkos is staying in TB.....he signed a 5 year deal.
Congrats to Chris Osgoode on one hell of a career with the Red Wings.

who likes the Jets new logo?
If you look at the second photo in this gallery, you'll see the inspiration for the logo.

I like it. I really like simple, minimalistic logos.
I especially like the logo with the two hockey sticks.
Hopefully they'll eventually use the old logo as a throwback jersey.

I'm seeing Richards hang'n out with "Entourage" boysIt actually isn't photoshopped. They were talking about this on PrimeTime Sports, and I read about it on various blogs. No one suggested it was shopped.
This was well-known. I was actually pretty surprised that Richards was traded to LA. It's not like there's anywhere to party out here.....
Sure, they are adults. But they are paid millions of dollars to play a game. The least they could do is have respect for their team and make sure that they are always in top form. I would guess that the partying was affecting their on-ice performance. Even if it affected their performance during practice, that's bad enough. They want to binge drink? Wait until the off-season.
Saw this link on CNN today. Does the NHL have a deal with CNN or something? That's two NHL-related articles in the past week.

Surely - I thought you would like this since Thornton is evidently a Toronto boy.

A few more weeks and I'll be neighbors with him.
Or would it be more fitting for them to go from being NY's second team to becoming Toronto's second team? They can build an arena on Toronto Island so they could keep their name......
Bye bye Islanders? Soon to be the Quebec Islanders? Or would it be more fitting for them to go from being NY's second team to becomimg Toronto's second team? They can build an arena on Toronto Island so they could keep their name......
