nebraska definitely passes the eyeball test. they look better than OU. however, until they actually beat them or texas for that matter, it's hard to believe.

Kansas state is just being dominated by Nebraska. I thought this was going to be a much more competitive game...

Kansas State is not a good team. They have a great RB and that's about it. This was no surprise to most of us who follow the Big 12 closely.

I'm not sure beating UT-Austin will mean as much this year as it has in year's past. The Whorns have a really bad offense and a defense that is not as good as advertised. They have a ton great (mostly young) athletes, so they should get better as the year goes along, but right now they're just not very good. It will be a monumental upset if Nebraska loses—at home—next week.

^^Seriously? Keep in mind that OU narrowly, and I do mean by the slimmest of margins escaped being upset by Air Force and the juggernaut known as Utah State in Norman just a few weeks ago. Plus they escaped Cincinnati, by the skin of their teeth. OU's domination of Texas last weekend doesn't count for squat because everyone knows Texas is down this year.

Oklahoma State and Nebraska will be the top teams 2 in the Big 12 this year, just my 2 cents...

Air Force is a great team, you're not giving them enough credit for OU's win in that game.

Utah State was the first game of the season, and there are always jitters and mistakes that kept the Aggies in the game.

OU (like every other team) keeps getting better, and I think they are the best team in the Big 12.

To counter your argument you could ask who has Nebraska played? Their schedule is even worse than Boise State's! **GASP** ...heh

Admittedly I haven't seen much of Oklahoma State yet, so perhaps my opinion will change when I do see them play.

They don't deserve to be ranked. They have some good players, but their record is the result of playing a bunch of cupcakes and having last week's game handed to them by an A&M team that simply isn't ready for prime time.

Lucky for them (OSU, that is), there are really only a couple of good teams on their schedule. NU will murder them and OU should handle them, as well. It will be interesting to see how they play against UT-Austin, though, because (as I previously mentioned) Mack Brown's squad isn't very good this year, but they do get the Cowboys in Austin (where they never win).

Here's somethin that might be fun. I always enjoy good photos of stadiums, so I thought maybe we could all post our favorite shot of a college football stadium.

I just came across this shot about three days ago. It's an A-10 Warthog flyover at Bronco Stadium just before the Oregon game last season. We have an Air National Guard base at our local airport, so these guys didn't have to travel too far. :)

The A-10 gives me a boner, and I have nothing against Boise St. - but that picture looks Photoshopped. Those two airplanes look identical to me - even down to the position of their ailerons. I believe IgnatiusTheKing is a designer, perhaps he can set me straight. :)

I believe it is photoshop. The shadows and lighting is exactly same and the reflections of the glass are in the exact same spots. Now that should not happen since the glass would be at different angles.

That and the light hitting the planes seems off compared to ground for time of take. It seems way to bight.

It's still a cool pic - I wasn't trying to piss in evilgEEk's Wheaties. I've always said that if I could fly only one military aircraft, it'd be the Warthog.

I'm not exactly dismayed that Nebraska isn't on our schedule this year - they look really good, worthy of their ranking.

This year we're finding ways to win the close games that last year ended up in the "L" column for us. I'm still undecided whether that's actually a weakness or not - we looked really good against Florida State and Texas, and so-so (at best) against everyone else.

I don't think Oklahoma State is a top-10-caliber team, but they do look pretty good so far. The Bedlam showdown should be interesting this year.

It does look Photoshopped at first glance, especially because...who would be taking that picture and where would they be taking it from? BUT...you can see some motion blur on the smaller plane's tail. That's easy to do in PS, but not many people would think to do it. As far the light/shadows are concerned, those would be exactly the same because the light is coming from the Sun. The angle it hits the planes wouldn't be much different if they were five miles apart, let alone 50 feet.

And as for cool stadium shots, this has always been one of my favorites. It was supposedly taken inside the plane doing the missing man salute before the A&M-Texas game in 1999 (after Bonfire fell), but it's Photoshopped, as well (the flyover flew the other direction).

Here's a couple of my favorites :)

This is the night Lee Corso's car was struck by lightning after he said he didn't think the Hokies would make it through the game.

And finally a view of the inside during an Orange Effect game :)

It does look Photoshopped at first glance ...

When I first saw it I thought for sure it was 'Shopped, but I saw an actual poster-size print of it and it's either a really, really good job or it's real. What finally convinced me was that the nose numbers are clearly different in the print.

It was a commemorative shot done for our Air National Guard base, and the picture was taken by one of the Apache helicopters that flew over with the A-10s.

I tried to get a poster-sized print to hang in my office, but no dice. :(

I really like the fish eye shot of Lane. The F-16s are sweet too, even if it was Photoshopped. :)

The Georgia-Tennessee game used to mean something every year
Usually both teams were undefeated going into this game, or UT had a loss to the Gators

The Dawgs are looking to avoid their first 5 game losing streak since the 50's I think

Paws crossed

I see Georgia making this a bit of a statement win. Not that beating Tennessee is much of a statement, but it will mean a lot to the team to get that W.

I think Georgia is better than how they've played. Not to say they should be unbeaten, but maybe 3-2. I think Richt will rally the troops and they'll still go Bowling, and save his job in the meantime....for now.

A&M-Arkansas today at the Boss Hogg Bowl/Jerry World/Death Star. I'm not going because the tickets are too expensive ($85 for nosebleeds, $350 for where I sat last year), but I'm hoping for a good one. #11 Arkansas is favored (and rightly so), but only by 6.

I think the Ags will lose a close one (something along the lines of 38-28 where a late TD ices it), but Herbstreit and Howard both picked A&M to win this morning.

I bet someone's a happy dawg :D

Let's just hope they can keep this up through the second half.

And from the No Defense bowl: Texas Tech is up on Baylor 35-28. At halftime. Almost 700 yards total offense in this game, and one of the weirdest plays I've ever seen. TT pulled an onside kick. The ball didn't travel 10 yards, and the TT players just stood around watching it. At alert Baylor sees this, grabs the ball and takes it in for a touchdown.

They did!!

Awesome!! The Dawgs looked pretty good
They didn't run the ball worth crap, but AJ Green is the real deal
We certainly missed him the first 4 games :(

Either the Vols are really bad (although they played LSU tough and shoulda won)
Or the Dawgs are improving with AJ Green back

My son in law was crushed with the Bama loss
They were as lackluster a team as I have seen in a long time
I would hate to be at their practice this week
And the QB better learn to throw the ball away

Herbstreit said this week would be Utah's chance to prove they're legit.

I hope putting Iowa St. away like they are will prove they belong in the top 10. TCU better watch out this year, we've got them at home. I've got my tickets already, should be epic!
