Just for the record... the Dawgs are undefeated when I am on US soil
I was here for game #1 and today's game
The rest of the time I have been in London

Hmmmmmm
I think I am on to something

They think football is played with a round ball
Ridiculous

I know. And they think it should be kicked with the feet instead of carried in the arms or hands. What's up with that?

BTW, has anyone seen Florida's offense? It seems to have not shown up lately. Oh, that's right. Their offense is now in Denver.

One more thing. It's too bad guys at smaller schools don't get much consideration for the Heisman. Randall Cobb from Kentucky has scored 4 TDs vs. Auburn. 2 rushing, one passing, and one receiving. And he's been doing this kind of thing all year. I think he also has a TD on a kick/punt return. The only thing he hasn't done is score one on defense. You'll never hear him mentioned for the Heisman, though.

Friggin' LSU is gonna pull out yet another last second win. Heh!

Herbstreit said this week would be Utah's chance to prove they're legit.

I hope putting Iowa St. away like they are will prove they belong in the top 10. TCU better watch out this year, we've got them at home. I've got my tickets already, should be epic!

Beating Iowa State doesn't prove anything, regardless of what Herbstreit says. The Utah-TCU game should be a great one, though. I'll be at the A&M-OU game that day, so I'm really hoping we get the ABC night game slot so I can watch the Frogs and Utes in the afternoon.

A lot of people hate on Les Miles, but that dude just wins. It's not usually pretty, but they get the job done. Spoiled LSU fans need to remember the decades of suck/mediocrity they had before Saban came along and resurrected that program.

I've gotta say, as much as USC's fans annoy me, it's kind of a bummer to see Matt Barkley's talent be squandered like this. He's one hell of a quarterback.

Ugghhh. I don't know what is going on. We still have four and five star recruits at every position and we can't make a frieking tackle with Monte Kiffin as our defensive coordinator. I just don't know what's wrong. It's downright pathetic to see us give up so many long yardage plays. During the last four years I was at USC our defense was dominating and now it's awful. Matt Barkley isn't squandering his talent. We still have a good offense and he'll still be recognized. Besides, he's only a sophomore.

Of course merely beating Iowa State doesn't prove anything, but beating them the way we did should.

68 points? That's a video game score man!

I think it's so odd that Utah has just quietly crept in to the top 10. It's almost like people are surprised when they see them there. They've just kept winning and ridden the wave of losses around them.

"Style points" has been a pretty hot topic of conversation here in Boise for the last couple of weeks. It seems a lot of fans want Coach Petersen to run up the score like some teams have (and Utah does it a lot), but he absolutely refuses to do it. Personally I think it's great. Chris Petersen is truly a classy guy, and even though the fans sometimes want him to pour it on to show the rest of the nation that we're a powerhouse, he won't do it. He puts sportsmanship in front of personal gain, and I think that's something that is hard to find nowadays.

Of course, I think style points are ridiculous anyway. We could have beaten New Mexico State and Toledo 200-0 and we'd still be #4.

I honestly didn't think much about this game at the beginning of the year, because I thought Utah would be rebuilding a bit, but now I can't wait!

It's going to be a great game. Of course, I won't be able to watch it because those awful channels are hidden away in cable/satellite upgrades that I don't have. ..Grr..

EDIT: In regards to the style points, obviously 59 and 57 points are a lot, but my...point...is that those scores could have easily been in the 70's, as our coaching staff started pulling our starters early in the third quarter of both games...

EDIT2:
Bama better drop behind BSU and TCU or college football is corrupt

Twenty bucks says they'll drop to #3, staying ahead of both Boise State and TCU.

Good to see the Dawgs play to their potential! I'm still kinda miffed that they should've/could've beaten Arkansas few weeks back.

For the record Alshon Jeffrey is a BEAST!! To your point, I completely agree; this is what we'll probably get today:

1) OSU
2) Oregon
3) Boise State
4) TCU
5) BAMA
6) Nebraska
7) OU
8) Arkansas
9) Auburn
10) Utah

Strong showings from Neb, Utah, Arkansas, etc will vault them up the top 10 rankings this week. With strength of schedule and as the season wears on, the voters will let schools like BAMA, Neb, and OU leap frog [pun intended from this TCU fan] the non automatic qualifiers. Much to my dismay. :(

I bet Nebraska jumps ahead of Alabama (and maybe either TCU or Boise...or both). Now that ESPN is in love with Taylor Martinez (since they can't love Denard Robinson as much since he played poorly against MSU), NU will start shooting up the polls.

No, because it's Iowa State.

Again, it's not the points you score, it's who you score them against.

Hang 50 on a team like Iowa State or New Mexico State and you're not going to get anyone's attention. Score 50 against a strong team and people will notice.

Yeah, that was a poor choice of words. He's be fine, obviously - it's just tough to watch as a fan of football.

I think it's funny that we're receiving votes. Have these people not seen us play? We have a minimum of three more regular season losses before we're done (NU, KSU, and one of A&M/oSu).

The good news is that I get to be excited about any win from here on out! Bring it, Baylor! :D

Well, color me surprised.

I didn't think 'Bama would drop out of the top five.

The media's love affair with Nebraska has officially hit full steam. Yeah, Denard Robinson is gone, hello Martinez.

Tomorrow, I agree with you whole-heartedly. That's why I don't think style points matter. Obviously we can be hurt by not winning convincingly, but dumping 60, 70, 80 points on a team means nothing when that team is as bad as New Mexico State.

Although, contrary to that point is Oregon hanging 72 on New Mexico and then moving up four spots.

So the question begs, do these style points mean more for an AQ team than they do for a non-AQ team?

got your wish. don't be surprised if bama creeps back up when the computers get added to the equation. at least bsu and tcu will get a little boost now that osu is back in the top 25.

our linebacker suck - plain and simple. wes horton's injury is also hurting. lastly, we don't tackle in practice, so how can we tackle in games?

as said above, he's only a soph. looks like woods is going to be a bad ass and prater will play next year. barkley will be fine.

I know he'll be fine, but I don't think USC will be in title hunt before he goes pro. That's why I think it's a shame.

Barkley is the kind of guy who would stay senior year. We'll be bowl eligible by then, he'll be an outstanding senior, and Robert Woods and Kyle Prater will be juniors and so will Dillon Baxter. That is the best offense in the country.

Defense? That's another question. TJ McDonald (our free safety) was supposed to be a monster. Five star recruit. Our corners (besides Robey) are underwhelming. A couple years ago we had Keith Rivers, Maualuga (sp.), clay matthews, cushing, kevin ellison, taylor mays, etc. That was the best defense I've ever seen.

Given who is coaching them, yes. I am really surprised. As I said before, Les Miles must be the luckiest coach in the country. Or he has a voodoo priestess working for him. Amazing defense, but until the Florida game this weekend, their offense was terrible.

I think after a while you have to dismiss the notion that it's all luck. The guy has giant balls and that translates to his team playing with giant balls, as well.

Also, this should make evilgEEk pretty happy. ESPN's mock BCS poll (what they think the BCS would look like if it was released today instead of next week):

  1. Boise State
  2. Oregon
  3. TCU
  4. Oklahoma
  5. Ohio State
  6. LSU
  7. Nebraska
  8. Auburn
  9. Michigan State
  10. Alabama

I dunno. That UT win was pure luck. That game was lost until UT pulled an even more boneheaded move than LSU. The bad part is that it was the same thing that happened in the Ole Miss game last year. You would think they may have worked on clock management at some point. Like I said before, LSU is a good team with a great defense and a pathetic offense and Miles isn't a terrible coach. I suppose my point is that he seems to have a lot more of the "WTF???" moments than other coaches, and he has been lucky to escape many of them so far.
